Here is a little info and photos of my HID install. Bought 2 of the BTS replacement kits from Josh. Intstalled the replacements - that was easy
Wanted to retro-fit my Baja Design cans - mostly because they are 4" and look good - that was the hard part :?
Stock lighting
Baja Setup
Modified setup - had to ad custom washers to shim tube to the right position for the Baja reflector and fab (er hack) and new retainer clip (damn I wish I had more tools... like a laithe  )
Mounted ballasts on aluminum angle - only thing I am not happy with was the relay cluster

With HID's! Baja's mounted higher - hood rubs the Baja cans but opens OK. Wanted them higher so I can add a winch - ordered a Viper 4000 today...
Tried to take some photos of the difference in light, but they just didn't turn out. You will have to take my word for it - they are bright 8) 8) 8)
Dude - you gotta get us some video ![]()
   Do you think your feet will ever get wet

Josh. The 6" BTS cans too big (I will return the one you let me borrow for test fit today)! I finished the retro-fit in the 4" Baja Designs and got the tube depth correct - holy sh__ ! Can't wait to test them on the trail... they are really throwing light.
Count me in... post the details when available
Ryan, you will have the Raptor right? So no way to trailer to another area? Lets work this out... 8)
Layne, hope you can make it!
Blake - I have watched the new Vid trailer... can't wait till its finished
 ![]()
Welcome Dune Dummy 29, Jed, Joseph and Tim!
You can always go carp skimming in the west side of Utah lake. There are trails there if you don't mind the smell of Utah lake mud!
Ha ha - did I tell you about launching my XP off a dead carp  Didn't see it until just before hitting it, was doing about 50mph. He was a big fella, thought I lost my hull ![]()
Agreed. Except - I love my Bighorns
The 26" Bighorns are more like 27" and are heavy in the sand. I haven't really noticed power loss except in the sand. Also, I think the offset helps stability a lot.
I agree w/DD. Ranger (not RZR - it is more recreation) has good utility. Mule is better utility than recreation (although, Julian has me second guessing that statement
) Teryx a lot like the Rhino, but new and not as big of aftermarket yet. Rhino is good for both utility and recreation. I would not use an ATV for logging. UTV has longer/wider wheelbase and more weight, so you will get better traction and pulling power. Also, I would rather be in a cage doing that kind of work
I would be interested in prices and photos! Thanks guys!
Not sure - I took my SeaDoo down there 1 time a couple years ago but wasn't looking for trails. If I remember there were people driving near the beach on West side. Might be worth calling (I think it is a State Park) and finding out. If you do please post your findings, I would love to do both. Jared - what do you know about Yuba? That is in your backyard... right?
:?: If you figure that out let me know... I have both PWC's and a Rhino and would love to go somewhere to ride em both :!:
I booked a cabin at Rose Ranch! ![]()
If any of you are interested there are still some RV sites available at various places. Motel rooms are booked, Rose might have another cabin...
Josh - I modified my Baja's to accept HID's. You were right about the depth of the tube/bulb in the housing. My first attempt (easiest) did not work very good - have a big "dead spot" in the middle of the beam. I believe the base of the tube will have to be flush with the reflector - the HID tube lights up the bottom section of the tube. So, I need to fab a sleave to get the tube to set in at the right distance :?
Question - my Baja's won't fit behind my bumper (center area - moving them up from where they were mounted so I can add a winch) and allow hood clearance, they are too deep. Do you think your housings are shallow enough for this? I would like to keep it easy and hang them off PIAA clamps? Are the tubes the same as the replacements? Thanks.
