#1 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » advice for when i finance a rzr » 2008-05-23 11:56:19

Mine should be here in early July, and plan to have the dealer install the winch and maybe the 14" wheel set.   Will finance that, but plan to pay off in a year.   Will go with the Polaris winch as it has the synthetic rope.

I will do the rest of the install stuff, including bumpers, windshield, top, larger batt box, 4 point belts, etc.   Reason is that I want to become more knowledgeable about the new toy.   If it breaks in the boonies, I need to fix it.   Besides, the dealer will just charge me labor for install of all the lock and ride stuff.   Front / rear bumpers just bolt on.  Polaris will drop ship to my farm for just a few bucks.   I'm old and half deaf, so will skip the tune systems.  I just wanna ride.   big_smile

That my plan.

#2 Re: Ranger and RZR Parts and Accessories » Which top for the RZR » 2008-05-21 07:34:47

Am about to start ordering parts for the July delivery of a RZR.   One of many questions is, which top seems the most practical, bimini, the soft top, or the hard sport top?  The hard sport top is a snap on lock n ride, would probably wear better, but seems to lack some shade features.

Help... :?

#3 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » street legal? » 2008-03-31 16:20:58

Illegal on Oregon streets.   There are a few exceptions.   Farming is one.   You cannot run up and down the highways, but in your local area when farming, not a problem.   I have a slow moving vehicle triangle that I put on sometimes.    smile

I'm in Search And Rescue.  We pretty much have a blanket authority to use them for that purpose, even on normally closed roads.  USFS leaves us alone in that arena.  USFS is much to busy managing all the timber that cannot be cut.

A few communities have passed an ordinance to make it legal drive in town.  Very few.

Thanks for the welcome.   RZR will be delivered in July.   Until then I need to putt around in my GEO Tracker.   I live next to the mountains in Eastern Oregon, 9 hours from dunes.   Lots of trails and will post pics when I get the new toy.   In the mean time, I will sit back, and glean from all of the experience here.

Again, thanks for the welcome.   Bob
