#1 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Kubota SxS 4x4 3 cyl. diesel, hydrostatic transmission » 2008-01-01 05:07:06

I agree with you, as you can see by the hour meter and the mileage, it averages only about 10 MPH.  The kubota top speed is 25, but I have never driven mine over 30mph and it is equipped with the bigger chip to allow it.  I have had to replace the clutch sheave and housing on the Rhino, everyone who has looked at it, says they have never seen one as damaged as that one.  The Kubota has a transmission, power steering and diesel engine, haven't driven one, but they weigh in around 1,800 to 2,000# vs the 1260 for the Rhino.  My Rhino is really a working one, used for route inventorying and mapping, so the usual speed is less than 15 MPH.  The Kubota is comparable in price and you can get it with hydraulic dump, glass windshield.  Can't find anyone who has one or who has ever driven or tested one of them.   Thought I might get lucky here and find someone who had one.
Thanks,
Gary

I have a 660 Rhino with 4,000 miles with just over 400 hours and have been looking at the new Kubota's as a possible replacement, does anyone have any experience, knowledge or information as to how good the Kubota is?  They are comparable in price to the Rhino, but weigh in around 1800# vs. the 1260 of the rhino.   I would appreciate any thoughts or input.
Thanks,
Gary
