high centering is what i was worried about. The trail terraine around here is hilly and rocky. Are you crew guys getting high centered much. What does a lift run? I have two boys that would go with me every time I start teh machine, the crew woudl ensure the wife could go if she were so inclined. The extra $800 is worth it as long as it is just a s capable as the 3 seater. I am trying to avoid the I wish I woulda's .

I am going to jump in on this thread question, rather than start a new thread. I am interested in a 09 or newer ranger. I can buy a new 2011 800 for 10,092 from abernathys in TN, or the crew for $800 more. I was not too keen on the crew because of the length. What do you guys with the crews think. Is it a problem in the woods? I live in teh Ozarks fo Missouri.
Also all the used ones in my area seem to be in the $10 K area so I dont see any value in buying used. I would need to save $2k to $2500 to make it worthwhile, do you agree?
I did own a RZR when they first came out. I loved it but it wasnt the ahndiest on the farm. I had to sell it because of finances, but I hav esince improved my personal situation so I am in the market and I have missed mine every day since I sold it. I need the ranger though not a rzr. I need ot be able to haul stuff.

Wow that sucks. I may have to take a long look at the crew myself

That panther is impressive from the video. How do you think that CF moto will hold up. WHat about after market parts supply? My self, I need similar things as the OP. But I really dont want a rig as long as the ranger crew. Would you really get into trouble if you built a safety cage for the bed, adn beefed up the suspension for some added weight capacity in the rear? Mine would not have a full time rear seat setup. I would build the cage removeable. that would be just for crawling and trips. Around the house I would have the boys jump in the bed and hold on (while working around the farm).

Yes I caught all of that. I just thought I would chime it that ther is a SXS that has the XT nominclature. Prowler has a 1000 XTZ also. I will quit with the prowler talk now. Sorry.

I have always wanted to travel out to the redwood forest in Nor Cal. I live in Missouri. I hae never been west of Colorado. I know nothing about cali. But I would like to maybe next year take my family camping in the red wood forrest. I would like to do some riding on a side by side. I dont have one presently. I used to have a rzr, but it wasnt great for farm work, so I sold it. I will probably be getting a new ranger 800. Anyway are there parts you can ride these things out there. Would it even be worth the trip to drive out there? I know there are a lot of places where side by sides are off limits.
I have a wife and 2 young sons, so I figured I would build an extended roll cage with back seats that attach in the bed. Also what are the fire arms regs out there. I know you guys have some deadly wild animals. I just want to make sure my family stays on top of th efood chain. maybe a springfield armory .40 and a benelli shotgun, just to be on the safe side. Will I get in trouble for any of this? I really have no idea where to even check, adn I always get good advice on stuff from forums. So I figured I would join here and start learning for a trip next year.
Thanks in advance.
