Never found the root cause, but did find out a trick to keep it from happening. When i go to start the bike, turn key on for like 2 seconds before I start the bike and there is no trouble.
Hey, thanks!!! I will check it and see what i find.
Ok had an issue with my 09 xp and still have it but have narrowed down some simptoms thinking maybe something some one else has experienced this issue.
Here goes:
Starting bike from a cold start, you make have to give it some gas to get it over idle (which is @ 1200 rpms) is where it normally idles. Once you give it some gas and the engine revs a little bit, you can let off gas and it will idle fine. If no gasd given it will die.
Starting bike after it has been ran a little while is ify so to speak. Sometimes it will start and idle fine with no gas given. But on occasion it will start and idle aorund 950 rpms. But it will idle there. When you give it gas, it is very sluggish. Will only rev to alittle over 3000 rpms and you can tell it is missing. Harldy any power if you attempt to drive it. Usually turning the key off and back on once fixes the issue, but if bike is hot seems to take a couple to several times of starting and shutting off before prooblem is fixed. Any suggestions???
Hey guys, quick question,
Replacing my belt on my 09 700 Ranger, have found there are a ton of choices at wide veriety of prices.
Do any of you have any suggestions to which belt is the best or are the all about the same?
Thanks, for the info.
Yea I called my nearest sevice place and they said they had never heard of it. So I was trying to do a little investigation of my own. One other thing I notice is the RPMs on the tach are real speratic at this time to. Like it's not reading correctly. Which may support your statement.
Anyway I will have it checked, hate to be stranded.....
Thanks, again.
Sorry, but can you give me more information.
What is the CDI and where is it located on the bike?
Thanks for the help!!!
Sometimes after I have been riding and once I shut my ranger off when I go to start it back up, it is running very sickly. No power, RPMS very low and speratic. Kind of like the brake is on and your trying to drive, but not exactly. Then once I shut the ranger off and immediatley start it back up most of the time it fixes the problem. Sometimes I may have to shut it off and start it back twice. Any ideas???
