Way to go UT! Wish more states would allow this including mine Not only would I love to drive to work everyday in it, I'd save a heck of a lot of cash on go go juice.

Probably because they are relatively cheap, haven't found an efficient way to fill their pockets with taxes for these yet! :evil:

Installed my Bulldog ATV street legal kit (thanks Ruthless Motor Sports), got it inspected and licensed Now I have to take a Motorcycle (written) test, and a driving test in my Rhino for ATV license :?

How can they call a Rhino a motorcycle, it has a steering wheel and four tires. and its the size of a Geo metro. That law should be put in the long list of DUMB laws the US has.

Clearly NOT the same typ of transportation. I wonder if law makers know what a Rhino is. Im guessing.......NOT.

Does anybody know if you have to dual regester ( on road off road ) in utah. Just trying to decide if it's worth the effort .

No you do not. Once street legal you are good off road as well.

Here is the latest info I found since talking to the law officer Saturday at the dunes....

He mentioned to me that soon the law would not require a motorcycle license for street legal ATV's but could not confirm it. I contacted the Utah DMV and this was their reply.

The police officer was correct as of July 1, 2009 you will only need a driver license to ride a street legal ATV. In the mean time you will need to go to a driver license office nearest you and take an eye and 25 question motorcycle written test. Once you have your permit you can make an appointment to take the riding skills test. When you complete the skills test satisfactory you will get a new driver license with an "M" endorsement and restriction "4" which means you are restricted to riding street legal ATV's only. If you already have an motorcycle endorsement on your license you don't need to do anything, you are already approved to ride street legal ATV's

Utahs Govereor signed SB0022 yesterday.
This is an amendment to the existing Utah OHV law passed last year.

It takes effect July 1.

highlights are:

Amber or Red turn signals.
Specific designation of utility vehicles (aka SxS)
Seat Height correction (RZR now ok)
Tires MUST not exceed 26 inches diameter
Requirement for MC license was removed BUT normal license is required.
