So great !
[b][i][u][s]THANK YOU. I HAVE DONE A FEW MORE THINGS & AM PLANNING A FEW MORE. I HAVE A RACE RADIO, INTERCOM WITH HEADPHONES & A RED, WHITE & BLUE WHIP THAT I HAVE NOT INSTALLED YET. I ALSO HAVE AN AMBER DUST LIGHT.
DUNE DUMMY 29 RACE REPORT FROM THE SIDXSIDE NATIONALS @ PERRIS AUTO SPEEDAY 11-09-08.
THE DAY STARTED FOR US @ 5:00 A.M. IN EL CENTRO. THE WIND WAS BLOWING EXTREMELY HARD & IT WAS A LITTLE COOL. AFTER A QUICK BREAKFAST WITH JACK, WE HEADED FOR PERRIS. WE FOUGHT A STRONG HEADWIND & HAD VERY LOW VISIBILITY FROM WESTMORELAND TO MECCA. BY WHITEWATER WE EVEN HAD RAIN. WE FINALLY MADE IT TO TRACK GOT SETUP, TALKED TO RYAN INGHAM & TODD & BRANDON ARTHUR. THIS WAS THE LAST RACE FOR THE SEASON. TODD ARTHUR HAD ALREADY WON THE SXS MOD PRO CLASS & FRED WOLF HAD CLINCHED SXS SUPERSTOCK CLASS. TODD CUNNINGHAM WAS THE CHAMPION IN THE SXS DOUBLES CLASS. I BELEIVE ALL OF THE TROPHY KART CLASSES WERE DECIDED ON SUNDAY. THE BUGGIES, 1400-1450 & SUPERLITES STILL HAD TO CROWN CHAMPIONS. WE WERE ALLOWED TO DRIVE THE KAL-GARD PACE TRUCK FOR THE FINALS BUT WE DID NOT SEE ANY OF THE PRACTICE OR QUALIFYING. WE ALSO WERE DIRECTED OFF THE TRACK BY PAS OFFICAILS AFTER THE PARADE LAP. SO WE DIDN'T SEE ANY ON THE TROPHYKART FINALS EXCEPT THE ELITES. DURING PRACTICE RYAN INGHAM HAD TROUBLE WITH HIS STEERING. OTHERS HAD TROUBLES TOO. THE START OF THE SXS PROMOD MAIN SAW YOUNG RJ ANDERSON PULL OUT TO THE LEAD IN HIS WALKER EVANS RZR. HE WOULD NEVER LOOK BACK & WON HIS FIRST RACE IN PROMOD. CONGRATULATIONS RJ. TODD ARTHUR STARTED LAST & WAS THIRD BY THE SECOND LAP & SECOND BY THE THIRD LAP. HE COULDN'T CATCH YOUNG RJ BUT ONCE AGAIN TODD "KING" ARTHUR & THE FLYING BANANA RHINO REIGN AS THE PRO MOD CHAMPS IN THE M4SX/DIRT ALLIANCE SIDEXSIDE NATIONALS. THE BEST RACING WAS FURTHER BACK WITH TODD CUNNIHAM DICING OT OUT LAP AFTER LAP WITH RYAN INGHAM FINALLY PASSING & MAINTAINING FOR WHAT I BELEIVE WAS FOURTH PLACE WITH A BAD STEERING PROBLEM. TODD CUNNINGHAM WAS RIGHT BEHIND HIM RUNNING A STOCK RHINO ENGINE. KAYLA SMITH BROKE ON THE FIRST LAP. THE SUPERSTOCKS & MOD AMATUERS RACE @ THE SAME TIME SO IT WAS HARD TO TELL WHO WAS LEADING WHICH CLASS. THE MAFIA ENTERPRISES RZR OF DOUG MITTAG & THE BLACK & GREEN RZR OF A YOUNG KID THAT I WILL FIND OUT HIS NAME LATER, WERE FIGHTING IT OUT FOR FIRST FROM THE FIRST LAP TO THE LAST THEY WOULD PASS EACH OTHER 2 OR 3 TIMES A LAP. IT WAS VERY EXCITING & I BELEIVE THE WINNER WAS DOUG MITTAG. I WILL CHECK WITH KEN LATER & GET NAMES & POSITIONS. I USUALLY KEEP CLOSER TRACK OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW, SO I KNOW LOREN MACDONALD BROKE HIS FRONT END . CODE RAHDERS WAS A NO SHOW AS WAS FRED WOLF. GARY "MOTO GARY" THOMPSON IN HIS BLUE RHINO THAT HE & HIS SON BIULT WITH NO SPONSORS WON HIS SECOND RACE OF THE SEASON & HIS SECOND IN A ROW. I BELIEVE TYLER WINBURY OF THE WAGON BURNERERS WAS SECOND. THE SUPERLITES WERE VERY FAST & VERY FUN TO WATCH. THE KAL-GARD TRUCK HAD TROUBLE FROM THE BEGINING , LEFT THE TRACK BUT CAME BACK. HE WOULD HAVE THE FRONT END WAY IN THE AIR OVER THE JUMPS PUTTING ON A SHOW. KYLE LEDUC IN THE RANDY'S, ROCKSTAR TRUCK WAS SUPER FAST & SUPER SMOOTH WINNING HIS SECOND RACE IN A ROW.THIS WAS A VERY FAST & EXCITING RACE. THE 1400-1450 CLASS SAW DAN VANCE & BRIAN CANNON DICING IT OUT FOR THE LEAD FOR SEVERAL LAPS WITH DAN VANCE TAKING THE LEAD & GOING ON TO WIN THE RACE. HIS TRUCK WAS WORKING PERFECTLY. THE SUSPENSION WAS FUN TO WATCH, BRIAN CANNON FINISHED SECOND BUT HIS TRUCK HAD WAY LESS SUSPENSION & POWER THAN VANCE'S BUT HE PUT ON A VALLIANT EFFORT ESPECIALLY AFTER THE GIANT TRUCK ROLLED BRINGING OUT A YELLOW FLAG. THE TRUCK WAS RIGHTED & CONTINUED ON TO FINISH THE RACE. THIS PUT CANNON ON VANCE'S BACK BUMPER FOR THE RESTART. HE TRIED TO PASS HIM ON THE OUTSIDE BUT COULDN'T & HAD TO SETTLE FOR SECOND. HE STILL DID SOME GOOD DONUTS AFTER THE RACE. I ENJOYED THE RACE A LOT. THE BUGGIES WERE REALY FAST & EXCITING TO WATCH I JUST DON'T KNOW THEM YET. I KNOW PECOY WON & THAT IT IS. WHEN I GET MORE INFO I WILL LET YOU KNOW.
I WOULD SAY THIS WAS A PERFECT WAY TO END THE SEASON. THE RACES WERE AWESOME. ALL OF THE CHAMPIONSHIPS WERE SETTLED & WE SAW YOUNG RJ ANDERSON WIN HIS FIRST RACE. THE WEATHER WAS OVERCAST & THE NIGHT WAS COLD. THIS WAS SOME OF THE MOST EXCITING RACING I HAVE SEEN. IT WAS EVEN BETTER FOR US BECAUSE WE WERE DRIVING THE KAL-GARD PACE TRUCK ALL NIGHT. ONCE AGAIN CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE CHAMPIONS & TO ALL OF THE WINNERS OF THE LAST RACE. MOST OF ALL CONGRATULATIONS TO KEN & TRAVIS FOR PUTTING TOGETHER A GREAT SERIES, WHICH LOOKS TO BE EVEN BIGGER & BETTER IN 2009. WE WILL BE RACING @ PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY AGAIN & BULLYDOG WILL BE COMING ON AS A SPONSOR. BULLYDOG STEPPED UP FOR THIS RACE & GAVE $1,000 TO WINNERS OF SEVERAL CLASSES AS WELL AS $2,000 IN BULLYDOG PRODUCTS. THANKS GUYS. KAL-GARD DID A GREAT JOB AS THE TITLE SPONSOR FOR 2008 & I THINK WILL BE BACK FOR 2009.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK KEN & TRAVIS FOR LETTING THIS OLD MAN DO THE THINGS THAT HE LOVES. IT HAS BEEN A GREAT 2 YEARS. THANKS AGAIN TO ROB BRILEY OF KAL-GARD FOR LETTING US DRIVE THE KAL-GARD PACE TRUCK. THANKS TO PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY FOR HAVING A GREAT FACILITY & STAFF. THANKS TO ALL OF THE RACERS & FANS THAT I HAVE MET & BECAME FRIENDS WITH, THIS WAS AN AWESOME SEASON. LET'S MAKE 2009 EVEN BIGGER & BETTER.
A SPECIAL THANKS TO JENNE & EDDIE FOR MAKEING JRE MOTORSPORTS WORK. WE NEED TO THANK THE PEOPLE THAT HELPED US GET TO THE RACES IN STYLE. RYAN & SERENA FROM SDHQ OFFROAD, KEN FROM M4SX & TRAVIS FROM DIRT ALLIANCE, HDUSA iSHOCK, SAND SYNDICATE, BLACK RHINO PERFORMANCE, NEED 4 STICKERS, SAASTAS CHEVRON, DS RACING & PLANET SIDEXSIDE.
THERE ARE TO MANY LIGHT FOR OR CAMERA SO EVERYTHING IS BLURRY. SORRY.
Dune Bunnie's Food Bank Idea
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OKAY GUYS HERE IS DUNE BUNNIE'S IDEA. SHE WOULD LIKE TO COLLECT CANNED FOOD FOR THE EL CENTRO FOOD BANK. SHE CHOSE THE EL CENTRO FOOD BANK BECAUSE WE HAVE HELPED THEM BEFORE. I THINK THAT IS A GOOD CHOICE BECAUSE A LOT OF OFFROAD ACTIVITIES OCCUR IN THE IMPERIAL VALLEY. WE HAVE THE IMPERIAL DUNES, SUPERSTITION & PLASTER CITY AREA AS WELL AS THE BRADSHAW TRAIL & OGILBY. HER IDEA IS TO HAVE BANNERS & SIGNS MADE UP ASKING FOR CANNED FOOD DONATIONS FOR THE EL CENTRO FOOD BANK. THEN GO OUT EVERY WEEKEND UNTIL THANKSGIVING & THEN CHRISTMAS TO GLAMIS, GORDON'S WELL, BUTTERCUP & SUPERSTITION ASKING FOR FOOD DONATIONS.. WE WILL NEED TO SEE IF WE CAN GET HELP FROM SHOPS SELLING TO THE OFFROAD COMMUNITY. WE COULD HAVE DIFFERENT PEOPLE @ DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. WE CAN EVEN INCORPOATE IT INTO THE BUGGY BASH & LA FAMILIA THANKSGIVING @ GLAMIS. LAST YEAR LUCKY MARKET & LOTS OF OTHERS HELPED US OUT WITH THE RAFFLE FOR VICTIMS OF THE SAN DIEGO FIRES. MAYBE WE CAN ASK LUCKY MARKET TO LET US USE THEIR PARKING LOT AGAIN. WE CAN ASK FOR CANNED FOOD & MAYBE HAVE ANOTHER RAFFLE. I KNOW THESE ARE HARD TIMES FOR ALL OF US, BUT MAYBE WE CAN HELP SOME LESS FORTUNATE THAN OURSELVES. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU ALL THINK.

The Dune Dummy 29 Race Report.
Those That Missed It You Missed A Great Race. The Afternoon Was A Little Warm & We Were Delayed For About An Hour Waiting For An Ambulance To Arrive. I Have Worked Sprint Car Races, Stockcar Races & Offroad Races, Believe Me This Is Pretty Normal, We Seem To Spend A Lot Of Time Waiting For Ambulances. Well The Wait Was Worth It. The Action Started Early In The Practice & Qualifiers. I Was Busy With Line Ups & Other Duties. I Missed The Practices & Qualifiers, But I Saw The Carnage As They Drove Or Were Towed Off Of The Track. Then When The SXS Mod Am Race Started I Was Eating Dinner & Missed It. Oops. I Heard The National Anthem Start Or No Telling What Else I Would Have Missed. Once Again I Got The Honor & Pleasure Of Being The Pace Rhino. Okay I Lead The Parade Laps. The Track Had Bigger Jumps On The Front & Backstretch. In Fact The First Few Times I Came Over The 4' Dropoffs I Almost Soiled Myself. I Just Rolled Through Them With My Basically Stock Rhino With A Major Toe Out Problem, But The Racers Flew Off Of Them & I Don't Think There Were Any Incidents On These Jumps But There Were A Lot Of Crashes & Contact Through The Whoops. There Was Also A Lot Of Passing In The Whoops. So The SXS Superstock Race Started Out With Gary "Motogary" Thompson Leading From The Poll. I Had Seen & Talked To Him Before The Race & He Had Some Fuel Pickup Issues & Changed The Fuel Pump Before The Main Event. It Must Have Helped Because He Lead From Start To Finish For What I Believe Is His First Main Event Win. Congratulations Gary. His Competition For The First 3 Laps Was Young Code Rahders. I Talked To His Dad Before The Race (DNF736) They Were Having Some Suspension Issues. He Was Gaining On Gary Thompson When The Left Rear CV Joint Broke. He Limped It Around For As Long As He Could But Had To Stop. Then Tyler Winbury In The #94 Wagon Burner Car Put Pressure On Gary For The Rest Of The Race But Couldn't Catch Him. The Wagon Burners Car #87 Was Third For The Entire Race Until The Last Lap When Loren Macdonald Passed Him Near The Finish Line For The Position. This Was Pretty Amazing For Young Loren Because In Turn One Of Lap One He Got Tangled Up With One Of The Makin Trax Rhinos & Was Dead Last. Congratulations Loren On A Great Run.
The SXS Pro-Mod Main Saw Todd Arthur With His Son Brandon Start On The Poll In The HRT Motorsports Flyin Banana Rhino & Never Look Back For A Wire To Wire Win. He Also Did Some Impressive Donuts @ The Finishline. Young RJ ANDERSON In The Walker Evans Shocks RZR Was Second Place From Start To Finish & Was Very Impressive & Smooth. Ryan Ingham In The Ry-Son Ingham Racing Rhino With Benchmark Power Like Todd Arthur Started The Race In Fourth, He Had A Heated Battle With Chad Mittag Passing Him In The Whoops On Lap #4 & Never Looked Back For A Third Place Finish His First Podium Finish In The Pro Mod Class. Look Out For Ryan When He Gets All Of The Bugs Worked Out Of This New Car. Congratulations To Todd & Brandon, RJ Anderson & Ryan Ingham. Chad Mittag Later Broke As Did Todd Cunningham, Regis Harrington Didn't Make This Race So Second Through Fourth Is Anybodies To Take @ The Last Race, Round #8 In November. Make Your Plans Now For This Event. Todd Arthur Pretty Much Has The Championship Wrapped Up But All Of The Other Classes Are In Doubt. If You Have Missed Every Other Race In This Series You Have Got To Come Out To Perris Auto Speedway For The Last Race. I Am Just Sad We Have To Wait Two Months For Them. Once Again The Track Officials & Everyone Associated With Perris Auto Speedway Put On A Professional Show. It Went Very Smoothly & Quickly. I Would Like To Wish Track Worker Slinky A Speedy Recovery From The Smashed Finger He Got Saturday Night. To All That Raced & Spectated Thank You Very Much. Thanks To M4SX/ Dirt Alliance For All They Do To Keep This Sport Growing. See You @ The Races.

LIKE EVERYONE HAS SAID, WE ARE SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, BUT IF YOU WANT TO BLAME SOMEONE GO AFTER THE DRIVER OR THE OWNER. BESIDES THAT WHO WOULD ALLOWS A 10 YEAR OLD GIRL TO RIDE WITH A 22 YEAR OLD BOY THEY DIDN'T KNOW. I KNOW YOU CAN'T ALWAYS WATCH YOUR KIDS. YOU SAID THE DRIVER WAS AN EXPERIENCED STREET BIKE RIDER. DOESN'T RELATE. TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. HE WAS 22 YEARS OLD. OKAY MAYBE IT IS JUST ME, BUT A 22 YEAR OLD BOY THAT RIDES STREET BIKES GETS IN A RHINO & AFTER A FEW MINUTES IS AN EXPERT. I DON'T THINK SO. I HAVE BEEN ON DIRT BIKES SINCE 1970 , I USED TO RACE 3 WHEELERS & I STILL RIDE MY 450 YFZ QUAD. I HAVE HAD MY RHINO FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS & I AM NO EXPERT, BUT I HAVE NEVER TURNED MINE OVER OR EVEN FELT TIPPY. THE RHINOS ARE WAY DIFFERENT FROM A QUAD OR A MOTORCYCLE. 10 TO 15 MPH & MAKE A QUICK TURN, YES IT WILL PROBABLY GO OVER.
