I had a question about broken axles. I have heard that the lift kit is usually not what causes a broken axle, it is actually adding bigger tires in most cases. Does anyone know the details of why adding bigger tires is so harmful to the axles? I am looking to add 28's, but I am somewhat worried about what could happen if i do.

I am new to UTV's in the sense that I have never owned one. I have riden in them plenty and am about to purchase my first. My question is, what can a UTV actually go through without breaking down. I am a good judge of how deep of a mud hole they can go through but more specificaly I see some videos and have seen it first hand UTVs going through water as tall as the vehicle itself. To me it just seems that would damage the engine in some way. I know they have snorkels and aftermarket products but it just doesnt seem like it would be healthy for the engine and other components.
