Better take it back to the dealer and let them check it out. I wonder if it's the drive line rubbing on something.
Same problem with mine. I can only get 2 to 3 gallons in when it says the tank is dry. Polaris needs to fix this for us or suffer some bad advertising. I know how to get the word out to a million people. Is it worth it Polaris?
Is it the glass windshield? If so, do you want to sell it?
Rather than spen 10,000.00 to get it fast, maybe just trade up to a RZR. Also, did you look into the swing arm problem recall they had on those? http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml02/02555.html
I installed the Polaris heater in mine last week. It is awsome, puts out about as much heat as my pickup heater. Even with the cab off, it'll warm your legs and feet. I'm glad I did it.
In Montana the farmers saved our rights for street use. They put up a good fight and won since so many farmers and ranchers use them.
I would have been riding if Polaris would get off their ass and get my RZR built. Been waiting 2 months now. They don't even have the professional courtesy to answere my emails. Maybe I shouldn't have paid the whole bill at once.
Hmmmm, have you checked to see that you exhaust is tight with no leaks? A leak at the head can cause back fire. Also check your spark plugs, or just replace them.
Man, this place is like a graveyard, wait, there's more action in a grave yard.
Do you have modified exhaust?
Depends on your state. In montana you have to have:
Hi / Low beam headlites
Brake lights
Rear side view mirror
Horn
I heard of that happening on another forum. Look here
I'm saying the 4 stokes aren't tuned with the pipe, just 2 strokes. On 2 strokes the pipe is actually part of the combustion chamber in a sense. On a 4 stroke it's just an exit channel for the exhaust. Some think they have more power because it's louder. I remember thinking that same thing when I was 12 and took the muffler off my Honda 90.
Aftermarket pipe makers makes lots of claims of HP gains on 4 strokes, but don't swallow it. They might work in some 2 stroke cases where the manufacturer didn't know what they were doing, but unless a stock 4 stroke pipe is severly restricted, all you'll gain is annoying noise and a loss of vehicle value.
Might be easier to just keep the shiny side up.
