Where should we stay? Lets get moving on plans before Moab is booked with some kind of enviromental event
Can we have Yamaha there in case I break something? ![]()
I have the whole air intake thing in question. I too have modified my intake and suffer from the take off power. Without the carb and other ENGINE mods I really think about sticking with the stock intake and see if the performance comes back. I feel that the air intake is balanced with the vacuum fuel pump and more air makes it hesitate, ANY OPINIONS? :?:
Anyone? everytime I find one on EBay I watch it and forget about it. It's hanging on for a little bit longer.
It is the Utah deer hunt season until the end of October. I would really like to go to Moab but will be out of town until the 11th of November. I think if we start planning now we can get a good hotel since they are staying busy down there.
Let me know on the next run like this you do. I think it would be a riot and have always wanted to do something like this before I am too old and want to slow down.
My carribean trip is on nov. 1 -10th. I would be flexible to any time if I know a few weeks ahead.
badley and I would like to go but having a tough time locating a couple rooms at a good, no cockroach hotel. I would take my toyhauler but would have no way of getting the rhino to the trails unless someone has a 5 x 10 space for me on theirs. Badley has his own trailer....any takers?
wheres the invite? I have been wanting to do a ride like that for years, except the crash I can do without.
Brad,
Go ahead and look into a condo deal. There would be four of my part and we can make them use sleeping bags if we need to. ![]()
kid has UEA that weekend. Karen has some vacation still coming so we need to use it. Thusday would work for us and get two rides in. I have the whole family so I can't be doing anything wild or I will get fired  or fired at!
It has been work, work, work and I am ready for a break. come home and leave to the southern Carribean after that. Good plan?
I'd go to moab around the 15th of October. That is really the only window I have since it's UEA for the kids. I went to the dunes last saturday with the atv's but need to get the rhino out too. Thinking of a Saturday ride if anyone is interested.
In Marysvale you can stay in a cabin at Liz and Charlies rv for around 35 a night, might be a little more now.
For us we like at least a four day weekend so we can go on at least two day rides, one east and one west. There is so much to see in that area you don't feel cheated if you don't get tons of mileage in. You don't need to move around since Marysvale is in the center of the action. I need about two weeks to block it in my schedule to plan it right now.
I would go in a heartbeat if I had time. :? This summer I found a few new areas down there and starting to take the side trails now exploring. I know the Marysvale area best but the fillmore to Richfield ride is also fun. Now would be the time to go to see the fall colors. Mabey if Moab doesn't fall through I could do it. Badley, interested?
If you are going to keep it stock and on trails the 450 is a very impressive machine. If you do ANY sand dunes or big elevation change riding, plan on four seating it go with the 700 efi. The intake will annoy you compared to the new design which hasn't been incorporated on the 450 yet. There is a substantial price difference but there is in my opinion more performance upgrade and resell potential in the larger cc machine. ![]()
I would question a change in carbs unless you do other work. An engine will only benefit so much and the edelbrocks are hard to work with on any machine according to others I have talked too. I would do a higher compression piston and valves before the carb myself and likely get more power, less money.
