Re: New custom intake system by me, need jet info!

I fabricated a new intake system.  It replaces the under cover dust bucket with a large K&N in the passenger compartnent.  Since I have zero air restriction now I'm sure the reason it won't run properly is the jet size is too small now.  No top end and no low power as before the change.  Suggestions??? Much bigger jets???
Thanks,
Pat

Lets see some pictures!

You are correct, you will need more fuel with changing the filter setup like that. Buy some jets and get tuning.  big_smile

Re: New custom intake system by me, need jet info!

Bradley, What needs to be done with the pictures?  They show up real clear on my computer while in the forum.
Increased the main jet to 170 today, opened up the exhaust and did a test drive.  Wow! low end up to 30 mph is radical then it seems to be running out of gas again.  Will do a plug read tomorrow and try to find a 175 and 180 jet to see if that helps.  I also want to drill out the air plug and turn out the screw;.  Anyone tell me how to recognise that plug.
Also it used to be slow to start without the choke even when really warm out side.  It starts without the choke now and runs right away without any choke.  I like that!
Thanks

I did a 08 air box in mine.

Based on elevation here going from a 145 to a 155 would be plenty for a air intake. Changing to a dual exhaust you might go a size above that, IMOO

Re: New custom intake system by me, need jet info!

I took out the stock air box and extended the pipe up and through the dash. then put a filter on it. It gets alot more air now, i just need to get my msd on there to up the fuel. and it works good for the mud and water i go through. ill get you some good pictures on it this week when i put the msd on. Any ideas on what setting i should use with the msd? I have the custom intake, exhaust tip and sheeve.
