Re: Turkey day?

You are one sick puppy. All this time I was thinking vent tube or federal anti splash requirement for our safety.
So do you think we need a chase rig with the tools and b-b-q's, or just rough it? I have several cases of MRE's to make us further respect the boys over there....

Oh you have no idea.  Just ask around here, its not pretty.

Okay, just to be clear.  MREs are illegal in my world.  I'm thinking nice thick steaks.  I spend my days trying to make it easier on the boys over there and I think they would call me crazy for eating MREs when I could have STEAK.  I'll be sending plenty of them photos after we are done just to remind them to come home in one piece so they can join us the next time out.   If we can con some poor bugger into driving a chase vehicle loaded with stuff thats fine by me.  Anyone have a sucker....I mean stooge....oops I mean really nice selfless caring person in mind?

Re: Turkey day?

Good, cause the MRE thing was just a test to see how hardcore you were.  I kinda' like my creature comforts at night, and it starts with a steak just to set the tone. Going to need a rough idea for a camp spot.

Re: Turkey day?

I expect somewhere between Hanksville and Moab.

Might even consider the River park in Green River since its within staggering distance from Rays.

On the other hand maybe we go to Robbers Roost and pretend were are the Wild Bunch.

Re: Turkey day?

So can we camp in the park, or are you thinking motel and showers? If we were to camp, how serious is the trail (can I tow my camp trailer?) Doesn't matter to me, just formulating a game plan.

Re: Turkey day?

I don't think the camp trailer would be a good idea on this one.
Too much trail to pound in a short time.

I'd be more inclined to camp than motel.  The park is open to camping
as is the other 9 million acres we will cross.

Re: Turkey day?

Got it. Rough mileage to camp or total 1 way. And are we hauling back, or riding home?

Re: Turkey day?

Who needs to sleep or eat?

I say grab a bag, cooler, water and gas and go!  big_smile (don't forget TP!)
I do need the trip plans back to Marysvale. Wife has only drove my truck once or twice and I would be worried about them both roll . I would be willing to make a loop if we could create one  . I will also be street legal very soon.

Are we camping yet?

Re: Turkey day?

All of this is up for discussion to be sure.

My experience with trailers pretty much sucks so I avoid them.
In general they cut your average speed by almost 1/2.
Partly because they slow you down, partly because you will
be playing with all that stuff, loading unloading, digging in it.

Just tell the wife to leave her makeup kit home and you won't need it.

"Just tell the wife to leave her makeup kit home and you won't need it."

Thus avoiding the Brokeback Complex, and sleeping with the door zipped shut. Plus the age old question..." Do these pants make my butt look fat?" Ride naked, it puts color in your cheeks......
