Is your linkage out of adjustment? (or) Maybe the clutch primary is sticking.

How many hours on the belt :?:
If the belt is good then it is either the primary or secondary clutch not working properly. Do a clutch service.....

Re: 2006 500 ranger belt or tranny problem

ok well i have the old belt and a brand ne wbelt they bopth do the same.
so today i took the primary/ closet to the front/ off and clean it up made sure it went in and out free and it did.. so when i put it toghter i notcied at real hig rev only the back pully would exspand  the pully towrd the rear..   but you had to really rev it. so i took it off and could not even pull it apart by hand it was so tight so i took the c clip off and clean it out i think it had some old belt stuck in it were it couldent exspand..
now tommerw i will work on putting it back toghter i did tonight fo rhours and cant get the tension adjust rite.... it  ehter exspand to easy or to tight ... i am tryign to get it back the way it was... i was close but low ranger was still to high ... but good news was the pully did exspand like it should
so i will let u no how it goes tommerw.

Re: 2006 500 ranger belt or tranny problem

let u no i got it fixed it was the back pully .. the littil  slids on the inside of the pully behind the c clip are wore out so when it exspaned and then went back to normal it would lock there and would not exspand again.
so for now i just trun the slids around and now it works smooth as ever.
thanks
