Re: Best Ranger Stereo

I am looking for a good stereo to put in my 2011 Ranger. Suggestions? What does everyone have in theirs? :?:

Hello full auto. I never really did one in mine but installed some in a few others. I bought the radios through west marine and were marine rated radios. They can handle getting wet and also sell  all weather kits to install conventional radios as well....

Just put an SSV in my Wife's RZR 4, we like it a lot  big_smile  All self contained and overhead - out of the way.

Re: Best Ranger Stereo

Ok, I went with the VDP type of speakers this time as the Mammoth Sound System was a little out of my range now. I was at a recent event and looked at several and this looked like the best deal. It is overhead and out of the way. It fit very well with my roof (Kolpin) and is very snug. The thing I do not like it the mount. I had to drill into the cage to fasten it on. The mounts could be better. If you get one, go to your local hardware store and buy some stainless screws of the same type. The ones that come with it are soft and threads strip out very easy. I will have to replace two myself. Also replace the screws that hold the bracket to the speakers with hex head screws. Same on these, very soft and even by hand, the heads strip out. Sound from the IPOD is great. I will run the power through a switch so I don't have to plug into the cig lighter for power. I will later hook up a stereo, probably Kenwood or Sony Marine unit, maybe in the spring. I will post some pics later this week.
Over all, Vetically Driven Products has a very good sound system at a good price. Oh, check Ebay for it. I bought the speakers and the amp separately, saved about $125 over the same unit with the amp built in.

Re: Best Ranger Stereo

Nice! IMO the overhead is the way to go. Not very powerful, but self contained and out of the way.
