Re: rear differential

I am NOT a real mechanic.....I know enought to get in trouble. But I heard the Rhino does NOT have a rear differential. Instead it had a "spool". Is this true? Why? What is the difference? Is one better than the other?

THANKS!!!

Re: rear differential

I am not sure what the difference is? It looks like a differential but is always locked... does that mean it is a spool?

Re: rear differential

The only reason they do not call it a differintial is because it is a posi traction rear end. Spool means it is locked. They call the front end a differintial because it is not locked all the time so they usually call the rear end the final drive.
