We will be posting up a bunch of info for our fall ride down in Moab which will take place in October as well. Look for the dates to be posted within a week or so. If you can try to plan your trip when all of us get together for the fall ride.

The best (and only as far as I know) RV park to ride out of is Arch View on the north end of Moab.
If you go after Oct 1 and are street legal then any of them will work.

Redman,
So is Moab going to work with the offroad laws? I would love to see this place open up a little. Since you know best it would be appreciated if you could put a exact list together of what we need to pass the new UTAH street legal laws, it's jumble if you try to read the governments lingo on the subject.
Are we camping yet?

Moab, Population 5500, is the perfect example of why your rig should be street legal.
Moab will be allowing street legal OHVs access to all of its roads and highways.
As many of you know the trails in Moab were created by Jeeps and explorers who
were not concerned with issues like "street legal" which resulted in a lot of trails starting
in one location and terminating in another requiring you to either return the way you
came or go home on a city or state road that required you to be street legal.
Most of these trails start and end on pavement, some are several miles out of town on
the highway. Today this requires a bit of trailering around.
Its a lot more fun after 6 hours of grinding it over the rocks to wheel home on the pavement.
The Hells Revenge trail for example exits onto the highway about 1/2 mile from where it starts.
But you can get a ticket, and many do, in that half mile.
But, you must have all of the mods on your rig to make it street legal AND it must be
inspected for safety by an authorized state safety inspector.
So far I have found two kits that are using LED turn signal lights that are not bright enough
to be seen in bright daylight and they will never pass safety inspection. I told
both of these companies that they will not pass and they plan to sell them still.
Caveat Emptor folks. If you buy the wrong kit you may have to eat it.
I only know of one kit that looks like it will pass inspection. It will be available soon so I recommend
hanging onto your pennies until it ships.

Donnie,
Good question and if I could get the @#$%^& at the Dept of Public safety to return a phone call I would
give you an answer.

So if I'm from AZ and am street legal here I will have to have my rhino inspected there?
I have been told yes, but then 10 minutes later told no by the Utah DMV....

Utah will be recognizing street legal OHVs from other states.
HOWEVER, only from certain states that require you meet standards similar to Utahs.
SO, you will need to check before your visit to see if your state has been added to the list.
As of today there are NO states on the list simply because there is a process of reciprocity that is being negotiated with several states.

That is great news and info RedMan. Im sure like you said it may take awhile but lets atleast be glad that they are working on it. For those wanting to look to see if their state has been added to the list where will they need to look?

Been told that the State Dept of Parks and Recreation will have this posted on their website.
Watch for it here.
