Re: aviation intercoms anyone use one

Has anyone used one or have a link to an experiment.  What is to keep someone from making this an intercom with an ipod input?  Would the impedence be different from communication VS stereos?

Help!!  I am too cheap to pay $600 for the real deal.

Have you checked with rugged radios?

http://www.ruggedradios.com/

They are always offering demo radios from a show for alot cheaper than normal.

I do not want to spend $600.

I seen this one the other day and thought the same thing :?: . Why not just buy a set of motorola's that have VOX built into them and a good Headset  .

Music input and PTT intercom is all I need with full headsets.

Re: aviation intercoms anyone use one

I could build this using cheap radios for me but i do not see a need for it my self at this point :!: , To do it for someone else for only one production unit It would be allot cheaper to buy the $600 set already made for this purpose. For $600 dollars i think that is a good deal to listen to your IPOD and push a button at the same time and talk to someone else. There is some sophisticated electronics involved to make all this happen and that is why it ain't cheap  .
