Is there something i need to do with this, every time i try to put my locking diff in high or low it just seems to rev out and sputter. it sounds like i keep pushing the gas and letting off. Do i need to aftermarket cdi box to make this work?

There have been a few times when I put in my locker and I was still moving (rolling) and the locker wouldnt lock up and it did the same thing. (rev limitter) I would stop reverse (back up) a foot or so then go back in to forward and it would lock in.
So you may just want to make sure it is locking in by stoping and backing up a little if that doesnt help, one other thing to try is with the engine off engage the lock and you should hear the actuator working in the front. it may be the actuator in the front diff is not working corectly.
The sputtering you get now is a safe gaurd for the front diff so that if the lock is not engaged fully and you stomp on the gas it wont damage gears that are not lined up properly yet. The sputtering reduces power to cut down on the torque. Its the same as the high speed rev limiter.
