Re: I survived Borneo

Hey I made it out alive. Trip of a lifetime and I highly recommend it to anyone who thinks they can handle it. Worth all the money and effort and time.

The trip was suppose to be 1500Km it turned out to be over 2100.
Thats about 1300 miles of some ass kicking jungle. I left the US on Nov 29 and returned Dec 23rd.

Seven vehicles did not make it, various problems made them drop out.

The RZR-S made it with only a few problems. LOTS of people did not think the RZR could handle this trip. They think different now.

Here are some photos.

More complete details are here on UTVweekly.com

I have a TON of video that I have not had time to work on so stay tuned.

Re: I survived Borneo

Definetly a die hard.  The reward of crossing the finish line had to feel awesome. Something you would never be able to pull off here due to our tree hugger society.

Tell us more!

Re: I survived Borneo

WOW! I love the pictures.

Well done. Looks like you will have quite a bit of rehab to do before the UTV rally!
On the other hand, maybe you should leave it as is and just display it! Maybe Polaris will trade you for a new one and use yours for R&D…
wink

It would be cool to trade for a new one but could you really part with something that went through so much and served you so well, it would be like trading your first born child.  lol

LOL, no but it was quite a ceremony.  The shamman or whatever dipped his finger in the blood and used it to bless us all with a littel smear.

It is the latest in jungle fashion! It’s a low rider!
Shannon likes to pick up pigmy jungle chicks when he is out on the trail.
The lowrider look gets 'em every time! They need it low so they can climb up in.
Did you happen to notice the curb feelers & fuzzy dice on the mirror too?
lol

Yes it was very loaded.  And then it packed with about 300lbs of mud as we traveled.

Re: I survived Borneo

So where you off to next?   A trek across Australia maybe, chase a few kangaroos and aborigines. (less mud)

Well the Outback Challenge is under consideration.  They will have a UTV class this year in May.
Its a multistage competion but there is plenty of mud.  One of the guys on the Borneo trip does it every year and
invited me to join in.

May is a bit early.  I would no more than get the rig repaired and have to put it back on the boat to AUS.
The Borneo Border Trek next December would be very cool.  It will be more in the mountains and take
a week longer.  Promises to be much more difficult.

Re: I survived Borneo

Just build a new machine and have one ready to ship. I think Polaris owes you big time, maybe as far as developing the BUSHMAN ADITION razor S.

Did you get one of those monkey banners for your garage....thats funny! lol  lol

Haha I doubt anyone at Polaris even knows.

I really wanted a copy of the "Don't harang the Orangutan" signs.  They cracked me up.
