OK Guys. Been following the posts regarding Ruesch. Unfortunately, not to many owners out there yet. I purchased Ruesch XRL 4 place back late last year that was in basket case condition. Engine removed and partially dis-assembled. Reported to have problem not going into reverse. Unit showed 7 miles on odometer and was manufactured 5/2008. Original owner (dealer?) took unit to motorcycle shop where the engine was removed and partially dis-assemble by mechanic. Mechanic got into it and for some reason (no manuals/experience,?) abandoned it. Since I had no first hand experience other than hearsay from the (dealer?), I decided the best course of action was to close the engine back up and re-install to see for myself what the real issues were. I got the engine back in the UTV and got it running with no problem. The unit would go into forward gears with no issue, but it would not go into reverse. The shift indicator indicated it was in reverse, but it would not lock up. Additionally, there was a slapping noise eminating from deep within the engine. I promptly shutdown the engine and knew that I would have to remove engine and go into the transmission. Once I split the case, I found the problem. The reverse gear is held in place on the CFMOTO CF 188 mainshaft with a spring clip retainer which had slipped out of the retainer groove on the mainshaft and allowed the reverse gear to drop down and not lock up properly. Fortunately, the gears and the chain on the mainshaft were not damaged and the looks of the inside of the engine confirm the low mileage that is shown on the odometer. The problem I am experiencing is in securing parts for this engine in a timely fashion from Ruesch. I have had a list of needed parts (gaskets, o-rings, retainer clips., etc.) submitted to their parts department since early this year and as of today I am still waiting. So I was wondering if any other owners out there can speak to their experiences in dealing with Ruesch for parts. I know that the unit is chinese made, but even a row boat could have made it from China by now. Any info on anything to do with Ruesch UTV's would be greatly appreciated.
