Iwas hoping to get some feedback from people who have driven both the 500 and 800 rangers. The dealership near me quoted roughly a $1400 difference between the two in cost. I will be mostly working the machine pulling logs, hauling firewood etc. Top speed is not important to me, it is more the pulling and weight capacities. They are actually rated the same for bed weight and towing. The motors are only a 4 horse differece. Whats your opion, is the differece that big between the two machines or should I save my $1400 and get the 500. Thanks for taking the time, I look forward to purchasing my new ranger!

I would say get the 800 even with only 4hp diff I would think you will get more torque and low end power out of the 800.
If your going to work it I bet the 800 will treat you better.
But thats just my opinion a Porlaris owner may say something diff.

I can find a picture that will prove you wrong
But, yes in most cases bigger is better.
