Re: My 08 RZR

Here's a couple pics of my RZR before I put the Mammoth Sounds system in. It is basiclly stock except for the soft top, bumpers, the RZR-S wheels, and the 1/2 windshield and the stick on flames.

Re: My 08 RZR

Love the sound from the speakers. Was pretty easy to put in, for someone who never did it before. I only wish they would make the IPOD mount so it would fit on the back of the shift console. Very easy to do if they would do it. That and add about 6" of volume cable and it's ready. I highly recommend the Mammoth Sounds.

I use the Axia mount on my dash, might work for you on the shift console...

Re: My 08 RZR

Made a power wire change to the Mammoth Sound System. big_smile
It was originally designed with a plug in on the ignition system, so it was only on when the vehicle key was on. I put a full size Optima battery in the RZR, so I don't see the battery running down if it's on for a hour or so. I put in a rocker switch on the back of the shift console. It is run directly to the battery and then to the power on the sound system. So now it is plug in the IPOD or other device and flip the switch, bing, it's on.

I like the idea of a separate power switch.
Makes for an instant "mute" when you need to talk to your passenger.

Re: My 08 RZR

I took the RZR to Poppy Mountain this week-end in Kentucky. Got to use the Mammoth Speakers and IPOD for the first time really out side of my drive way. Worked great. The sound blew away the Tractor Tunes system in another Ranger. It also sounded better then the J-Strong roof system & stereo. The power switch turned out to be the best idea I have had for a while. It worked great after riding all day and the sitting around the fire at night we could turn the unit on and listen to music without the dash lights on or the fuel pump powered up. And the Optima Red battery worked like a champ. Ran the stereo for several hours and never even hesitated to start the RZR. Now I head back down on Wednesday to finish out the week of riding and relaxing.
