Re: New Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition

I just located this site and would like to introduce myself to you guys. I'm a hunter and fisherman and just bought today, for pick up tomorrow, the new Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition. It is fantastic looking with it's metalic candy red color and aluminum wheels, dark and light gray accent colors and seat covers. I'll post a picture when I take delivery.
Plans are to fit it with the Lock and Ride cab system before the hunting season.
If any of you guys know of accessory that you think it absolutely needs, please let me know. I don't want to get to the hunting lease and think of something I should have ordered.
I'd like some feedback from any of you guys that own one on how you like the Ranger.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: New Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition

Congrats on the new Polaris Ranger purchase!

A few ideas that I've seen out there for the Side X Sides you might want to consider for hunting purposes:

- Gun rack/bow rack that mounts to the roll cage.
- GPS and GPS mount kits

- Additional lighting and light mounts on front bumper and/or roll cage. ZoneWorx (zoneworx.net) has some nice lighting setups.

- Might consider upgrading the tires depending on the terrain you'll be covering. Lion Cart (lioncart.com) has great prices on tires and wheels.

- Have also seen some nice storage boxes, and other types of containers that mount into the bed for various items.

I'll keep an eye out for particular brand names. Keep us posted if you find anything you find useful as well.

Welcome to the forum! Can't wait to see the pictures.

Re: New Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition

I get all the way to the step where it says to copy and paste the image and when I right click on the url it doesn't give me the option to copy. Anybody, a little help on how to upload an image??
Thanks.

Did you highlight the URL? Then right click - copy. When inserting an image in to post - click image button - right click - paste - click image button again. Look foward to seeing the XP.

Re: New Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition

Well, I think I've got it figured out with a little help from my friend above. Here is a picture of my new Ranger. Some definite accessories will be the front brush and headlight guard with the extension around the side of the front fenders and a winch. Next, sometime before the hunting season, I plan to add the "Lock and ride cab" system.
I'm going to hate to take this pretty thing into the woods; but, that's what the're made for.

Nice looking ride! It is always hard to put the first scratch in them but you are right, "that is what they are for!" Keep us updated on what you keep doing to it big_smile

Re: New Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition

I'll try to post a picture each time I add a new accessory. I'm going to start out with the front brush and headlight guard and a winch. Going in Tuesday to order the parts.
They don't exactly give away that "Lock and ride" cab system. Before I order that I'm going to have to unload my 2000 Yamaha Grizzly.

Sounds good! What kind of winch have you decided to go with and why?

Re: New Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition

I'll probably go with a Warn winch somewhere in the 3500 lb. range. I'd like to get the mount that places the winch behind the lower screen rather than sticking out in front of the bumper. I'm going to have to research that a bit to make sure I get the mount I want.
I had a Warn winch on my Grizzly and it worked very well each and every time I had a need for it. Mostly used for hoisting up deer blinds mounted on 10' stands and for hoisting deer up on the spreader for cleaning.

Re: New Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition

I got my winch mounted along with the front and fender brush guards. Not too difficult to do; but, a helper is in order when trying to hold the winch and line up the bolt holes.

Re: New Polaris Ranger XP Limited Edition

This was the most difficult accessory to mount, so far. The carriage bolts are too long to screw the nut onto when fully inserted in the brackets and there is no room for a rachet to tighten the bolt. Little short strokes with an open end wrench

Next will be the lock and ride cab enclosure... stay tuned.
