does anyone know about any good LT kits for my teryx? i drove my buddies rhino and the desert and he has a kit from ishock on his and it was like night and day difference. with a little more power that thing would be awesome i think. anyway i have my tyrex and i recently jetted it and put muzzy pipes on it. its crazy fast now for a sidexside i think and sometimes a little scary with the stock suspention it just blows through the travel. does anyone know anything about the ishocks for a teryx? and if not anything that is working good for them on thier car? please let me know thanks!

I just installed a+6" HCR racing kit on my teryx. You are right about there being a night and day difference. I'll never own a side by side that does not have long travel.
If you look at the "ruthless is a temptress" thread, there are some pictures of my Teryx. These are rock crawling pictures but we were mobbing some pretty rough roads at 40 mph. They build a box arm kit that is ultra strong, and use king shocks.
Call HCR at 1-888-928-7223 x-2 or call Damon at 1-661-644-4091. He is at an atv show in utah this week, they are out of cedar city, utah- but has dealers in California or can make arrangements to pick up and deliver your machine. hcrracing.com
Good luck!
Let me know if you would like more pictures.

yeah those are definitely some nice kits but kinda pricey for me i checked out ishock.com and they have just about everything its pretty awesome you can mix and match a arms with shocks from all different brands and all of them are like a grand a half cheaper. how are the kings working out for you? and was the instalation hard?

OK, hopefully I dont start to ramble. First those are aftermarket rims and tires. The setup is available from ruthless motorsports, 1-435-851-3637, ask him about Lanse's teryx. They can ship you a set.
On the long travel, IMO, King is the best shock out there, I have ran other shocks and have not had the ride that I get from the Kings. They need to know if it is a 4-seater or 2 and have specific springs and valving for each application. HCR uses top of the line Summers Brothers axles. The box arms are much stronger than a tube arm.
I've went the route of buying the cheapest stuff before, and always regret it. That being said, you can get one of HCR's kits for around $4600.00 including powder, axles, shocks and arms. A complete kit, (appears to be in line with ishocks pricing). The shocks and arms are engineered to work together, I'd be nervous about the mixing and matching thing.
HCR shot some video last weekend in Moab and should be on youtube this week. When I find the link I'll post it and you can see HCR's stuff in action.
Installation isn't hard just takes time.
Hope this helps.

If the HCR is out of your budget (they are competative with most good quality LT kits), talk to Ruthless Motorsports about the Super ATV Kit. I am not sure of the details, but it is the cheapest LT out there. With some applications you can use the stock shock (I would not recommend), they also have some gas shocks cheap. Not in the same class as HCR or King, but it would be an improvement over stock.

definitely a cool video but i dont ever rock crawl haha. how do they handle through whoops and what not? and does the offset wheels and tires make a difference on how the shocks perform? i know with ishock they use tube arms.. what makes the box arms stronger?
about the mixing and matching one of my friends is into racing and rides a yfz 450 and he was nervous to about running the ishock arms with the elka stage 4s but the guys at ishock said they have all the speck sheets and they are designing thier arms for whatever shock you want to use. and i aslo know that the elka guys tested with lonestar racing (regarding utvs) when they were working all the bugs out of theirs systems so im pretty sure they have it down pat
thanks for the help guys

Here are some close up pictures of HCR's box arms. Think of a tube arm with a full piece of steel on top and bottom tying everything together. Rather than just a tube taking the abuse, the whole arm is a "box". FYI, these are pictures of a RZR and Rhino. These will handle sand whoops really good.
On the offset question, it depends how much offset you are talking about. If there is only 2 or 3 inch offset towards the outside, it shouldn't make a difference.
Badley is right, most any long travel is better than stock, but there are differences in quality and rides of kits.
Hope all this helps, good luck with whatever option you choose.
