Re: Differances between rhino 66 & 700

Hi guys im new to the side X side world & took my first ride in one last weekend atthe Hatfield McCoy trailfest weekend in WV. I drove the can am 1000cc commander which was nice but to big for my needs & trails around me.

I went to the yamaha tent (im a die hard yamaha guy anyway) & tested a 450 rhino & also the 700. HUGE differance in these & i loved the 700fi motor & also the digital dash with all the info easily readable vs the dummy lights.

I came home & was looking at a few used ones online & ran across a couple really nice 06/07 660's that are really nice priced but not really sure of what all changed from the 660 to the 700 other than a little bit of motor. How do these engines compair & is there alot of differance going from the carb to the FI? Does the 660 have the same digital dash with the fuel gauge, speedo, drive train info ect as the newer 700s?

Any info here would be greatly appreciated  thanks guys

Re: Differances between rhino 66 & 700

Dave, look at the other thread since I posted some good info with my experience. If you ride alot of ATV or tight trails you may be interested in the Rzr 50" instead of the Rhino.

Are we camping yet?

Re: Differances between rhino 66 & 700

The 660 is a nice motor, but is cold blooded - hard to start cold and if you change elevations (drastic) it can be a pain. If you can find a good deal on a 700 go with that for the FI. You may change your mind when you drive a RZR.

Re: Differances between rhino 66 & 700

I had a Rhino 660 Sport and loved it. The RZR fun factor is off the chart, I ended up with a RZR S and eventually sold the Rhino. I will stand by Yamaha quality! Polaris could learn a few things from them about fit and finish, but Yamaha should have paid attention to the sport market - they lost my business . The RZR is much faster, lighter, lower center of gravity. After market parts can fix a lot of the RZR's shortcommings. No other company has come out with a pure sport SXS like Polaris. Until they do, the RZR rules IMO.

sounds good. ill keep checking stuff out but its looking like i might go that route if i can find a deal on one. i like the S model but i think its wider than we are allowed on our trails. thanks for the info & opinion
