Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello, i'm still trying to decide on my first side x side, so i was going to wait to post on here, but thought maybe you guys would have some opinions on what would be my best options. I raced quads for 11 years in the gncc, and awrcs series, but i was in a car accident that destroyed my left arm 4 years ago. So i need something that i can go out and ride in the woods with my kids  that i don't have to use both arms all the time to drive it. My left arm is still there, but it can't take the constant pressure from handle bars anymore, i miss going riding with my boys(they have their own machines), but my quad hurts me too much. The options for test drives around here are very limited, so any info would be helpful.

If this isn't the correct spot for this i'm sorry, i'm new on here.

Welcome and the only thing with factory power steering would be a full size Ranger. I think the Honda Big Red may also have it as well but not sure. On another note they do sell power steering kits to retrofit onto the RZRs as well but it would have to be done aftermarket  ......

2003 Ford F350 Superduty FX4 Lariat, Banks Kit.

Welcome to the forum! And as a side note you can get all RZR models with factory power steering not just the Ranger.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Thanks for the welcome, i'm leaning for either one of the polaris models, or one of the rhino's. I test drove a teryx, and it was fun until the motor blew up, and it was a new machine.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello everyone I am a new guy to this forum. I live just south of Fresno in Lemoore. Right now I don't own a SxS but after my next cruise I plan on getting one. I am looking to get some great info about all the brands to make a good decision. I am leaning towards a rzr4 if I can round up that kind of money. I really like the Rzrs but am wanting a 4 seater so my go with a 4 seater rhino. Time will tell. I also have a dirtbike and a quad. We usually camp and ride up at Hungry Valley.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

First and foremost, thanks to all who take the time to answer the questions and concerns of those they don't know.

We are a father and son (12 years old) team that are off-roaders by blood...loved it since birth...and always looking for a new adventure. We've dragged his sister and mother all over this great country of ours and have had the good fortune to enjoy Rubicon, Moab and Cedar City UT, the Alpine Loop in CO, Palo Duro Canyon in west TX, Rocky Top ORV area in Jellico TN, Windrock/Coal Creek (first RZR ride) in Oakridge TN, Superlift's Offroad Park in Hot Springs AR, Tellico ORV Area in NC (now closed), Monteagle TN, Riverrock ORV Park in Milledgville GA (now closed) and a host of others in our Jeep CJ-8.

Now to the reason for this intro:

The mistake (depends on point-of-view) that I made was taking a one-mile test drive in a friend's 2010 RZR-S Limited Edition "Orange Madness" in September...as you guys understand, I had to have one. In mid-October, I found a 2010 Limited Edition RZR-S "Purple Thunder", made a deal and brought it home. We've put 50 hours and 350 miles on it thus far with 15 of those hours in the mountains of east TN. As it stands now, it's in the shop with a fragged belt that took out the cover...we are very impatiently waiting on parts.

To clarify the extent of our excitement, please consider the following: On December 23rd I talked to my friend who allowed me the pleasure of test driving his Orange Madness. I called him about taking the RZR's trail riding...he told me that he didn't know when he'd have time and may sell it...we talked about a price and agreed on it...I'm headed up to his house on Tuesday to pick it up...and the adventure begins.

We'll look forward to tech and tips from other members and adding anything we may find useful.

Donnie (dad) and Tyler (son)
