So I went on a "Snow Ride" with Fasttrax and Peverly and lost front diff. after a few technical climbs
Snow adds a few degrees of difficulty
Has to winch over this one
Ryan's RZR 4 helped me over the last few hundred yards with only 2 wheel drive
Dash showed diff engaged, but nothing. No noise either. Expected an electrical problem with the coil/magnet. After opening up the diff I found the problem - the armature plate was in about 7 pcs. I replaced the Sprague Carrier last Spring (thanks Ruthless Motorsports) and it is perfect - found the next weak link. Should have a new armature in tomarrow.

Brad,
Glad to hear your going to have your ride fixed soon. We have got to do another snow ride. That was so much fun.

Is there a stronger one? Makes me wonder if that will be a part in my near future.
I need another good ride like last weekend. Did you get your machine checked out Bob?

Where is this trail at? Looks like a fun trail.
To bad on your machine Brad. Sounds like you'll be good as new shortly!
Ryan, how did the 4 do on those ledges? Any clearance problems?

I have stock armature plate coming today. I have found 1 other company offering one but could not find out if it is better than stock

From what I have read, most recommend that plate be replaced any time front diff is opened up. Maybe Ruthless Motorsports can do some research on above or onther source for better Armature Plate
Lanse, we went to 5 mile pass (Utah) and Bob took us up the Constrictor trail (I think that is the name), probably the toughest area at 5 mile. Ryan had to "belly up" to a few obstacles, but the 4 did great (and helped me over that last few hundred yards). I am dying to get back out - with all the new snow it is bound to be a challenge wherever we go. You interested Lanse? Jared?
Got my Power Steering installed ( Thanks Ruthless), just waiting on the Armature plate to test the steering. Need to relocatate the cam-lock parking brake and I am good to go.

I wanna see the rzr4 being winched up.

The four did well. There was one obstacle that was tricky being on a turn. With the four I find some things actually easier than the rhino days, additional lenth does not bother me but another inch of clearance would help.

I am ready to ride Armature Plate installed, seemes to work perfect. Power Steering and Windshield Stiffener installed and Parking Brake moved/modified (Thanks Jared).
I believe Bob is is going to tear his down (trans mainly) and try and find odd vibration that showed up on this ride

I'm glad I replaced the plastic sprag in the front diff when I did, thanks Jared. The end piece came off. There are 10 little square nubs sticking out that hold the end on and only one of them was actually attached properly and it broke (see pics below). It probably wouldn't have taken much more use. It appears to me its more of a manufacturing issue then a design issue?

Thanks Jared. The pinion bearing on my front diff. failed. The ring and pinion is damaged and don't think any part of the front diff is repairable. Do you know anyone who has a complete front diff. they want to sell.
