I was thinking about getting the Trooper T4 but went with the Crew. But you've sparked my interest in where you would get a performance chip for the Trooper. I never saw one in my research while I was considering my purchase.

Here's a discussion on the chip. I'm looking for the one that I found that is already available

Here it is. I'm anxious to see how well it works, and do you need to find an experienced "tuner" who understands it's parameters.

Wow, $1100 for a computer. That's steep, and then they suggest a profesional intallation. That's gonna be $$$$. I don't believe just a computer could get you 20hp on a trooper either. I'd want to see it perform in person before I dropped $$$ into the midteens on a product.

Yeah; that is steep. However; as far as a chip getting you 20% more HP; I believe it. I have a Subaru WRX STI and a local guy did some tweaking on my computer and found LOTS more horsepower. It's all above my head; but electronic hot rodding is the way it is these days......especially on Asian made vehicles.

I'm just comparing it to my Excursion with a V10. Banks' Power-Pak is headers, y-pipe 3" catback exhaust, cold air intake, engine computer, and tranny computer and it's numbers claim 18% with alot more than a chip. We new this wasn't a cheap sport when we got into it though and there's nothing better to spend money on than more power. If I new how to spell Tim Taylors grunt I would insert it here.

I wonder if Asian vehicles are "de-tuned" more than American vehicles? I'm not sure if China is a "greenie" country or not; but they make some good gas mileage vehicles! The Trooper 1100 engine is out of a really wierd looking little car. I don't know if we even have anything on the road that small. Kinda reminds me of the Chevron cartoon cars

that does look pretty darn small. I'd like to see someone standing next to it to better judge the scale.
