Re: 2011 Robby Gordon Rzr4

I just bought a Robby Gordon Rzr 4. I have a total of 12 hrs. on it. Something blew out a hole in the transfer case, gears started grinding. I took it to the shop where I bought it, the service guy said that this is about the 4th or 5th one he has seen with a hole in the same spot. Has anyone experienced this ? And what can I do to prevent it from happening again ?

If the dealer is saying this is the 4th or 5th one that he has seen in a RZR-4. And since it is the same transmission as used in the standard RZR. And I also have not heard of this happening on any of them, it sounds like the extra weight of the RZR-4 may be to much for the transmission  . The transmissions I still believe are made by Dana/spicer corp and until there is enough failures, the problem will not be addressed till then. I know of no aftermarket upgrades as of now but I am sure at some point that could happen.

Until there is a fix by the factory or aftermarket, I suggest getting the extended warranty  . Maybe someone else will chime in that may know the problem first hand.....

Yeah that was my thought also. Dana /Spicer has been doing this for years, i would imagine they will have to do something eventually. Thank you for your input.

Re: 2011 Robby Gordon Rzr4

When you see the amount of plastic Polaris uses in thes machines you will want the extended warranty. My 2010 RG rzr4 had the spraque carrier go. Others have had transmission issues that was to be resolved by 4/2010....oops!
