Re: Air Baffling Box

Not sure on the other years and models, but I have a 2010 ranger xp and removed the air baffling box behind the passenger seat/gas tank.  I put in a 2" PVC 90 and clamped it.  Not sure what this box does but its empty and has no filters inside.  Any idea what this does?

Re: Air Baffling Box

It acts like a surge tank and it's for when you're cruising and all of the sudden floor it, it has a ready volume of air to suck in the intake vs having to pull a harder vacuum on a 2" diameter tube. You probably won't notice a difference though. They sell an item called a boost bottle for 2-stroke atv's that serve the same function as the Polaris box claiming better throttle response.
