Re: NEW SPORT ARCTIC CAT!!

Definitely interesting...or at least different from what were used to.  The choice of green paint is awesome...I like.  The shape of the cage and the weird shocks leave something to be desired IMO.  (Thinking it has more of a Dune Buggy look than the traditional SxS)  Regardless, competition is good.  More choices are good.  For the Polaris fans, this can only make their offerings even better.  Since it's competition is the RZR S/XP and Can Am, I'm sure it will perform well.

Re: NEW SPORT ARCTIC CAT!!

Damn!   I like it. Looks like it will have tons of travel. Trailing arms seem to be shorter and tucked a little better than the XP. Rumors are 100 HP and cheaper than the XP. I like the doors and I can't make out the dash - almost looks like a video screen. Also looks like you could tuck some large diameter tires under it very easy. Is it me or does it look like a longer wheelbase? Very cool that someone else is entering the sport market with Polaris (maybe Can Am or Kaw will be next). This will only make the market better. AC guys need to weigh in and tell us how the AC's are doing - engine and drive train. Hope it is released soon  8)

Okay, guess I can pass on some specs for you guys.
It has no name yet, but at the dealer show, Wildcat was the most popular.
Tube chassis, long travel trailing arm rear, front A-arm setup. It does have doors.
It has 16-17 inches wheel travel (has 30 inch long reserviour shocks std), wheelbase is lengthened from previous chassis'. Width is 64 inches. Uses an HO version of the H2 V-Twin motor. It has about 95+hp, weighs less than a RZR XP900. Factory Dual exhaust. It is built for the desert southwest and dune guys. This in not a prototype machine, it will be fully in production in the next 60-90 days and is slated to be released to dealers after the late summer dealer show. But there is some grumbling that it may not fully hit dealers till January.
Arctic Cat did this pre-release teaser to catch the attention of those that would be buying the RZR XP900, as AC is squarely aimed for it.....(AC knew about the XP last year and made sure this machine would beat it in all categories.....even price, $15900).

As for reliability, I have run the hell out of 3 different Prowlers and had very little problems. Some guys have had problems, but no more than what my RZR buddies have had. And AC is using parts that they have had several years to test and improve.

This thing is wild, fast and handles like a dream.

By the way, have you seen the new Arctic Cat Logo....
