I installed a similar kit on my Ranger and it's 4 times the light and HID's claim less power draw while running than halogens. The install took me probly 30 minutes. I could do it in 15 now that I'm familiar with the set-up. Mine was plug and play.

Mine is for my Ranger but I got the 880 bulb 35watt (55 will supposedly melt my stock housing) 5000 heat range. Any higher than 5000 they start to look blue, mine are bright white and 10 times the light the stock ones put out. I got the regular ballasts since I have plenty of room but I think all they sell now is the slim ballasts. I spent 40 or 50 bucks on mine and it took almost 3 weeks to get them.

As long as the wattage rating is the same with the stock halogen bulb no need for any stator upgrade, its a simple plug and play application. By the way make sure to choose the best kelvin rating for your riding activities.
