I purchased a complete set of billet hubs from Fireball Racing...I learned the following:
For model year 2010 RZR-S's (haven't researched the standard RZR or others) Polaris installed 3 different unit bearings that support the wheel hubs.
According to my local dealer, from the beginning of the model year to Dec. 31, 2010 the smallest inner diameter bearing was used. Fireball Racing's hubs were designed and machined for these bearings.
From Jan. 1, 2010 thru March 26 - 31, 2010 (final date is unclear) a unit bearing with a larger inner diameter (ostensibly to improve strength) was used. This, incidentally, is the size I have in both of my RZR-S's and what caused the research.
From the end of March, + or -, to the end of the model year still another unit bearing with a larger inner diameter was used.
My conversation with Fireball Racing leads me to believe the only fix I have is to buy and install the smallest diameter bearing in my S's and then install the billet hubs...
Be sure of your build date when ordering billet hubs...it may save you $800...
If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough...or at least a very good mechanic.
