I have a 07 660 rhino...After I park it for a few days it is hard to start from lack of fuel. I have a buddy that put a boat priming bubble inline to help prime his( he runs out of gas alot). Is this a common problem or what fuel pump can I add on to help stop this?
Thanks

My friends carbureted rhino had the same problems and he carried a can of ether with him everywhere. I do not recommend this due to the fact that ether has been known to cause engine damage  .
I had read somewhere that someone corrected this problem with the use of a electric fuel pump and a fuel regulator. This would fill the fuel bowl as soon as the key is turned on that would eliminate cranking the engine to fill the bowl. I think the rhino uses a different system and maybe someone can fill in the blanks.....

Check the fuel lines behind the seat, sounds like you are possibly getting air in the "loop" or vacuum issue. Try blowing (yes, by mouth) in the line that provides air into the fuel tank and see if it starts.
Are we camping yet?

First thing don't waste money! What I mean is don't spend bucks on something that ain't broke!! The 660 used a fuel pump that worked by vacuum pulses from the intake. If the valves were out of adjustment, meaning a tight valve the intake vacuum pulse was weakend. This is the pulse that runs the fuel pump!! It is normal for the fuel level in the carb body to go down while sitting, it is vented and it just evaporates. When the fuel level drops the machine will be hard to start if the pump can't pump enough fuel quick enough. Remember a tight valve causes a weak pump action. Another thing, the vent tube to the fuel tank terminates in a frame tube with no filter on it. Nobody filters the vent air to the fuel tanks but they should. The fuel tank will get a layer of fine dust in it depending on the conditions where you drive. There is a tiny check ball in the fuel pump that is sensitive to dust, it can be held open by these fine particles and the the pump will not work well. Check the valve adjustment first, A tight intake vale will always cause hard starting, then put a fuel filter on the fuel tank air vent line, this will keep the dust from intering the fuel tank and driveing you nuts. Really buy a cheap fuel filter and stick it in the rubber vent hose that vents the fuel tank. Stick it in the end of the hose and stick it behind the fuel tank hanging down. If there is a ton of dirt in the tank you will need to deal with that issue also. Really this a simple problem and you can fix it with a low cost almost always. Enjoy your Rhino and be safe!

Thats exactly what I have to do...After I pressurize the tank and hold finger over hose it will start right up. What is the black plastic filter looking thing that this hose is connected to? is this not a filter?
I will check valves, the prob. need to be looked at
Thanks

That black plastic thing is a roll over valve, it is there to keep fuel from poring out when you roll the Rhino on the hood. Now I know that you are not going to do that!! Ride safe, don't do dumb stuff.

Thank you for the very good information and input . I do not think he intends to do a roll over as well as do dumb stuff .

Got to say sorry for comment about safety, didn't mean to sound that way. I allways think of safety and usually pass it on. I have no intention to offend. I will only post if I think I have something useful that may help or save a buck.

Hi, I know you got your problem fixed but I wanted to share something that happened to me. I was having trouble starting and keeping my 06 660 running. My friend put on a new carb and electric fuel pump. It would start but it pumped fuel out the overflow on the carb. I put a regulator on and set at lowest setting. It still pumped fuel out all over. I then took it to the local motorcycle shop and they put a stock carb on and got rid of the electric fuel pump. It runs good now. Just thought I would share, this was a costly fix, and ended up stock again. [font=Comic Sans MS:46133f2b8c] [/font:46133f2b8c]

There is more to do then adding a fuel regulator that needs to be done. The rhino fuel pump is very low pressure and most fuel regulators will not dial down that far unless it is a very good one. We are looking around 1 maybe 2 psi max so the other thing that would need to be done is setting the float adjustment so there would be more seat pressure. It is a trial and error job till the proper adjustment is achieved

Yes I found out about the regulator but I could not get the float dialed in. So I went back to all stock. it runs good.
Thank you for the info.
