Several guys I know had them installed. I personally dont like them and wont get them, but then again I already have a set of full doors and am in the process of manufacturing a really cool set of fibergalls full doors that are steel framed. For those not wanting to spend money or get real protection, the yamaha doors are ok. For those who want total protection and awesome looks, they will opt for the full doors.

This was my take on them too. They'll keep your legs in and that'sa bout it. I think if you ever tip on your side agasint a large rock, they will not hold up. Since they were no charges and I didn;t have anything yet, I thought I'd give em a try. They do keep some of the mud/ water off you.
...one more damn toy to mod. :-)

Thanks Josh! That is clean - so why are the dealers hacking a big hole in the plastic?

How are you guys talking the dealer in to installing them yourself? Talked to 2 dealers and they won't budge, they have to install. I don't want them hacked in. Hook me up guys.

Well I got the doors put on. It would take about an hour if you dont have to search all over your messy garage for the right drill bits like I did. :x You do not have to cut the big hole in the side like Yamaha suggests it to be done. You do however have to slightly bend the bracket out. I spent a little extra time making everything so it had no rattles coming from the doors. Did a test drive and not a sound comes from them. I would highly suggest that when you take your rhino to a dealer if they will not let you install them yourself have them not cut out the hole. The latch fits great between the bracket and the plastic helping to keep your door tight. I had to give the dealer my vin number and info for them to put in their system. They keep track so that only one set of doors goes to each vin number.

One of the other forum members had his doors put on at Escape and requested that they do not cut the hole in the side. They would not let him take the doors but they worked with him and didnt cut the hole. He said that they might start doing them that way from now on. Check with Escape Brad.

Thanks Jared. Have an appointment next Thursday at Plaza in Heber to install doors and grab handle. They said they have to do the install because of agreements with Yamaha, but are willing to work with me also. They are not comfortable mounting the latch over the plastic, but said they will sleeve the bolts behind the latch plate, or maybe install a back spacer the same size as the latch plate and only cut a hole in the plastic big enough for the spacers or back plate. They feel this will make the plate mount solid They will bend the plate to have a tight fit without rattles. Plaza not as close as Escape, but their service people are great and since I am always in Park City on business anyway, Plaza will get my business.
Maybe Escape feeling the bite of everyones bitching - they told me a few weeks ago that they have to install the way Yamaha tells them too, now changing their tune/tone.

There is no need to install any kind of back plate or anything. The plastic is not what holds it. It mounts to the same square tube that it would mount to cutting the big hole. The only thing I did different was I drilled all the way through the tube so I could run a bolt all the way through with a washer and lock nut on the end. This is much stronger than using the self threading bolts that come with the door kit.
