Re: Snow plow and Winch

Hi everybody. I’m new here and I want to ask for your expert opinions.

It seems to me Moose plow system reduces ground clearance, as seen in front view http://www.mooseutilities.com/products. … ry_id=3696 Am I right?

Moose and Eagle tubes push on around 1/3 of the blade, whereas Warn tubes push on around 1/5. Then, are Moose and Eagle stronger?

If a plow weighs less than 100 lb, why is it necessary to use 2500 lb winches or bigger?

In stuck case, a small winch plus a pulley could be better and cheaper solution?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Snow plow and Winch

Warn makes an incredibly strong plow, I wouldn't suggest that the tube ratio is going to affect strength.  The reason a 2500 lb winch is necessary is anything rated below this weight rating is going to be too weak to provide the kind of strength that an accessory like a plow puts on it.  Hope this helps.
