Re: trailering?

Just wondering what trailers everyone uses to haul around their rhino?

pics?

I'm looking at an Aluma open bed trailer.

Re: trailering?

I have and Aluma for my ATV's (model 8816), lots of trips and it seems to be a great trailer. I like the ability to load and unload any direction. It will hold my SXS too, if I get one.

Re: trailering?

Yes, ramps.  I have a set of tri fold that is adjustable in width.  I put ramps, like you use to drive up on to change the oil, at the front of the bed to drive the front tires up on.  That gets the front bumper up and back from the rear window a couple of inches.  The front tires are a tight squeeze between the wheel wells.  The rear tires rest on the tailgate.  I replaced the tailgate cables with stainless steel hinges and reinforced the side of the bed where the tailgate closes.

Re: trailering?

big_smile I give you some mad prop Duramx. That doesn't look like it's easy. I have wider tires on my rhino and a 9" lift on my truck though, so I think it might be hard for me. That's really cool though, thanks for the pics....

Re: trailering?

The wider tires in front would work if you made something to fit in front of the wheel wells to keep it up after you crawled it over the wheel wells.  Rear wouldn't be a factor.  It would climb right into your lifted truck.  I do have an 84' long ramp instead of the usual 72.  Helps a lot on the angle.  At times I wish I had a long bed and it woujld sit on the bed itself and not the tail gate.  Plus I could use a little extra room for carrying fuel cans.  Right now, I put the fuel cans and Honda generator in the bed of the Rhino.  Not enough room to carry all my junk, like paddle tires, etc.

Re: trailering?

I have a f350 Short bed and have thought about it too. Have you considered a 2 x 4 frame with ply 8" long? It would take the weight off the tailgate.
