Re: Options for increasing leg room???

Hi. I'm looking to buy a sport sidexside but every one I sit in has a stupidly high footrest. I'm 6'1" and this is my primary concern because I know my knee will begin to hurt after a short while if my leg is jacked up like that. I've tried sitting in Razor 800, 900, now just today tried the 1000. I was hoping the 1000 would offer more leg room but it really doesn't. So far the Maverick seemed the most comfortable. But after seeing a DirtTrax vid shoot out between the Razor, Maverick, and new Wildcat they gave the nod to the Wildcat because of the ride comfort. The laid back seats they liked but they didn't say much about leg room. Apparently a lot of these reviewers are short enough that they don't see a problem here. But the funny thing is I'm not really tall. Hell kids in 10th grade these days are as tall as me so I don't really feel tall anymore. Why aren't more people pointing out this leg room issue? Anyway, I have not sat in a wildcat yet but is there any tall people here that can comment on this model?

Also if the manufacturers aren't really ever going to make us taller riders comfortable, does anyone know if there are aftermarket companies addressing this problem for us taller guys? That is, does anyone make floorboards that replace the stock ones and remove that stupid foot rest which causes knee discomfort?

I'm also considering just hacking this blasted foot rest right out of there if I do go and buy ones of these. Anyone got links to tall guys that have done just that?

Re: Options for increasing leg room???

This is also a concern of mine, I'm in the market for my first SxS, I'm 6'4" and 310 lbs.  I played football in college, I'm wide, and I'm tall.

I've sat in all the RZR's, and the Wildcat.  I did have more leg room in the wildcat.  It was still not "comfortable" by any means, but I'm old enough to accept the fact that 90% of the world is of Average height/weight, which means basic marketing would show 90% of the customer base for any product will be in at the top of that bell curve.

The industry will likely never re-engineer their products for the 3% of us that are tall.
