Re: In line?

I just read a report on it. I am really disappointed that Kawasaki chose to go with a carb on the motor instead of EFI. I was waiting to choose between that and the RZR. That decision has now been made by Kawasaki, and not in their favor.

Re: In line?

Any idea why they would go with a carb instead of EFI? The EFI seems like the only way to go these days. Does the carb give you more options for performance upgrades? Can you mod an EFI or at least re-program them if needed to change performance characteristics?

From my understanding atleast at this point the carb set up does give you more options as far as upgrades. And yes you can change performance  characteristics with the EFI set up. So........

Re: In line?

Looks like they copied the rhino.  I bet that "brute force" V twin will run away from an EFI rhino, even if it has a carb.

Re: In line?

The Teryx is rated at 51 hp stock! It should blow the doors off of a rhino really easy! One thing that I haven't found about them is the top speed. Does anyone know how fast they are going to go top end? I am going to buy something in the next couple of weeks.

Re: In line?

I just got mine.  33 HP to the rear wheels is what the dealer said and 45MPH is what I got on my GPS before it hits the ignition regulated speed controler.    The engine gets up to speed quickly and seems to be jetted spot on.  It is crisp and clean here at 1000'.  There is a little engine vibration from the V-twin but about what I expected.  It pulls harder than the RZR in the midrange and like the RZR can be driven with the rear end due to the extra power.

I got the Red one and was surprised to find a black bed and wrinkle finish on the red roll cage.  The dash on mine is dark as the night sky (with no moon) in Baja.  No dash gauges or lights except the idiot light if it is over heating or the parking brake is on and the blue indicator light when in 4 wheel drive.  Kind of bleak.  The Diff Lock is pretty cool.  There are different levels of engagment and you do not have to run it full on or off.  Not sure how that works but it a nice feature.  The floor of the bed is a black diamond plate pattern and it seems smaller than the Rhino but is obviously larger than the RZR.  The headlights worked ok tonight but some after market blazers will be needed.  Brakes worked great but seem to be 80% front biased.  I am used to more like 65-70% front.

The suspension is very plush and it never felt narrow like my RZR.  You can feel the rear sway bar working when cornering it.

Re: In line?

Its always good to hear first hand experiences from actual users (not some Kawasaki marketing pitch), especially when you have driven other UTVs to compare it to.  Thanks for the Teryx review.  Got any pics?
