I have a trinity racing sheave and I highly recomend them www.trinityracing.com with a cdi you get about 58 mph.

carhauler89,
does the Trinity sheave help, or hurt, low end off the starting line response? The extra top end is nice, but if I'm on an MX track and trying to get to the first turn a little quicker will the Trinity sheave and different rollers for the clutch improve acceleration?
Thanks.

I am running 27in. tires and it really woke up the bottom end on mine there clutch has a different pitch. if I am on a little incline I can pack the front end a little.

My Rhino wouldn't pick the front end up with two 660 engines under the hood.
I like the idea that the Trinity clutch kit is a new sheave and comes with new roller weights to maximize acceleration. It looks like the clutch has been tuned for maximum performance from the start. I like that approach instead of just machining the stock sheave for more top speed, then discovering that you need a new spring to work well in the dunes, then being told to remove half the stock roller weights.
Thanks for the post, I just ordered one.

Did you get your sheave in yet?? I forgot to tell you that trinity does not send new grease seals, but you can reuse your old ones if your carefull taking them out...I have the part #'s if you need them...

i heard that when you put a new sheave in it messes with things. I had a buddy who had to drive his rhino in low just to have a little rpm....id this because he put it in wrong?
can you still drive in high all the time and be just fine. Jus the way it is stock?

Since my clutch change and cdi, I have noticed a huge loss while climbing to the top of sand mt. at little sahara. Has anyone else suffered this loss? I only had the sheave changed and not the weights, top speed was improved but would rather have the power to climb. Any recommendations? :?:

I got the Trinity sheave and weights quite some time ago. I am entirely satisfied with the way the Rhino is working now, and the biggest improvement to date has been the Trinity sheave, so thanks for the heads up on that one carhauler89. The actual engagement RPM is still nice and low because all of the clutch springs are stock. But with the lighter weights in the clutch the engine RPM builds instantly when I give it some gas, and it feels like I installed lower gears in the differentials. Rock crawling and other technical obstacles are night and day better than stock. And with the improved taper of the sheave top speed has increased from 49 mph to 55 mph, with no detectable increase in engine RPM while at top speed. Engine RPM is higher at low to medium speed, but seems to actually decrease relative to stock for any cruising speed above 35 mph or thereabouts. The only negative effect seems to be slightly worse fuel mileage when cruising below 35 mph.
I would definitely recommend the Trinity clutch set up to anyone with a Rhino 660.

:?: I just ordered a Erlandson clutch kit. With the taller tires and clutch sheave, my speed is good but no low end hookup in the sand for climbing or snap from a stop. I am trying to decide if I should keep the stock sheave in or keep the KMS sheave in thinking I will gain some higher top speed. Any recommendations?

I think I would try the clutch kit with the KMS sheave first, and if you do not like that, then switch to the Trinity sheave, or a Grizzly sheave. The stock sheave is going to limit top end too much.

Has anyone else changed their clutch out including the wet springs?

After lots of messing around with clutching I did learn something!
Don't buy a new sheave! For just over a hundred bucks you can go with the hunterworks overdrive weights and a 700 cam plate. I messed around with springs and roller weights and was disappointed with everthing until the hunter works kit.
If you do your research you will find more are satisfied with the hunterworks upgrade than any sheave on the market.
