Re: RZR tire fitment

Just curious to see if any one out there is running 27" rubber on their RZR and what kind of mods they had to do to get them to fit. I'm looking into running a 27x10" R14 up front and a 27x12" R14 out back on mine and was hoping I could get a little feed back about tire rub and clearance issues.

Re: RZR tire fitment

Well I see that there have been lots of views on this topic but no replies. I guess I have taken it upon myself to do the trial and error on this one. I just got my first glimps of my new rzr @ the dealership today and it looks good sitting there with the 27" Mud lite XTR's. Since I didn't get any feed back on the topic I thought I had better tone it down a bit and went with an 11" width out back and 9" width in the front. I'll see how they ride on thursday.

Re: RZR tire fitment

Got the RZR with the 27" tires on bruiser rims and have put about 150 km it and so far no issues with rubbing or clearance at all. The Mud lite XTR's have so far proven to have excellnt traction and a great ride. Looks aren't too bad either. All though I haven't really put the RZR through it's paces yet I am quite happy with the set up so far. I'll hopefully post up some pictures soon if I can mange to get some.

Re: RZR tire fitment

Good choice. I think the 27" fit it nicely. Thanks for all the feedback and photos as well.

Re: RZR tire fitment

I would have thought they would hit the back of the front wheel well opening where it points forward.  Im impressed that they fit.  Did you loose or gain top speed?  Is it as fast out of the hole?

Re: RZR tire fitment

Well I can't really tell you on the performance difference between the factory 25" rubber and the 27" that I have because I had the 27's put on before I ever picked up my RZR. I have had my speedo up to 58 mph which is calibrated stock for 25" rubber so I can only guestimate that I must be doing over 60 mph if you consider the tire size. I should clock it with my GPS to get a better idea on the actual speed.  All that being said it has alot of jam out of the hole and I'm expecting that once I install my DFR clutch kit it will be even better.  big_smile

Re: RZR tire fitment

trying to figure out what rim / tire package to put on my RZR. Any updates on your selection? The 27's still working out good without rubbing?

Thanks!

Re: RZR tire fitment

I have 26" and I can go 55.3mph on a GPS.  I'm not sure about 27" inch tires, but I think bigger (even 26") tends to rob performance from the cvt type drive systems.  There are always trade offs like ground clearance, and you need to decide what you're willing to loose to gain performance in your prefered terain.

Also, bigger tires put more leverage/stress on axles, cv joints etc.

Good luck

Re: RZR tire fitment

Thanks for the response cooter.

Does anyone have this setup installed on a '08 RZR?
Any other comments before I buy would be great.

Re: RZR tire fitment

Nice pics thanx!  No spacers?  Smart!  It looks like you gained a few inches in the width.  Can you get a close stab at the gain in the width?  I am disappointed in how easy the rzr is to lay on its side(Still the best side x side out there).  I was use to my friends standard Ranger in stance.  I'm thinking of going to this set up for the width gain.  I cannot even think about a long travel for a few years.  $$$$

Re: RZR tire fitment

Very nice! What mods did you have to make to get those tires to fit?
