Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ Rally

It is coming together.  March 1st and 2nd there will be a huge ride in Quartzsite, AZ and it looks like there will be some pretty big sponsors involved.  (Tentatively, Side X Side Magazine, UTV Concepts, True Flow, B and A Motorsports, Goodyear Tire, Vision Wheels, Gatorback Belts, KC HiLites, Cart Wheelin'). It will be a three loop format (2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday) through some amazing sights and trails.  Included will be General Patton's training grounds, mines and some of the most amazing scenery.  The terrain will be a mix of high speed hard pack, sand washes, lots of rocks and nothing difficult.  Anyone interested?

Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ Rally

Would be interested in Sep, Oct or Nov.  March is too dusty.  That is the tail-end of the dry season and after all the Snowbirds.  My two cents!

Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ Rally

I understand what you are saying but as I am sure you know, AZ is a Craps shoot at best.  It was still well into the 100's this past September and dusty.  This month the area has received over an inch of rain and more is on the way.  Point is, you just never know.  The city of Quartzsite said this time would be better and the desert in March is beautiful.  There are also many more events in the summer and fall than in the spring so our thinking was run when we have fewer things going on.  Thank you though for your feed back.  I will look into it.

Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ Rally

It is growing quickly.  Here is who is supporting the ride:

UTV Concepts
KC HiLites
B & A Motorsports
Fabtech Motorsports
Side X Side Action Magazine
Goodyear Tire
TomCar of Arizona

There are others that have contacted us but that is who is in for sure.  All companies are supplying loads of give aways and some great products for the Poker Run.  UTV Concepts is giving away a complete gauge cluster package.  Side X Side is giving everyone a 5 issue gift subscription.  Goodyear is giving away a set of tires.  KC HiLites is giving away a set of lights and there is more!  Don't miss it!

Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ Rally

I was wondering how many people that were coming to the DBR had a GPS?  I was thinking about doing the Sunday ride as a geocache event.  Any feed back?

Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ Rally

We have the entry form for the Desert Bloom Rally available if anyone would like it.  We can fax or email it.  We will accept them faxed or emailed to us or you can bring them or sign up at the event.  There will be a waiver that must be signed by all participants at the event in order to receive your wrist band to attend the rides.  The event is really starting to shape up.  It is well over 40 UTV’s at this time and the list is still growing.  We have some awesome trail rides to entertain us as well as some great give-aways.  I viewed the rally site yesterday and it is perfect.  I also had the chance to run a bit of the dinner cruise course.  It will not be on the main streets like we originally planned but I think it will be twice as much fun.  I will be in Quartzsite on Saturday and then I will return with my dad on Wednesday to begin marking the routes.  I will email directions to the event this Sunday or Monday.  Please feel free to join us at any time. I will be in a red Teryx with UTV Concept Stickers and a huge KC HiLites Light bar and Dunlop Tires.  Please stop by and say hi.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call our toll free number (866-575-9876) or my cell (602-525-3997).  Thanks.
