Has anybody found a good combination of tires and rims that are street legal?  I also want to keep my RZR 50".

Thanks for your reply.  I had not found good blinker kits yet.  I finally found this site for tires as well:

These guys were quite helpful and were the only one out of 12 that I called who had an answer.

Michigan seems to be reasonable to conform to their rules.  Many of our trails are surrounded by fire break roads.

can you make sidexsides legal in the state of utah?  if anyone has figured out how I would love to hear how to do it.  If not we need to figure out how to change the law.

I was close... I had all the tires, signals, horn, etc. to go legal. Called my UHP contact and he said that as long as the manufacture lists them as off-road only that is where they will stay.  :? I think this could be contested if we all banded together we may convince them otherwise :?: . I would love to be able to boogie down to Wendys or for lawn mower gas without paying 3.60 a gallon for diesel . Besides, I would feel safer in a rhino then a 50cc moped that is somehow allowed on the road.

Your UHP contact is wrong.

You will not be required to have DOT approved tires to get you UTV street legal.
I have that info directly from Mike Noel who drafted and sponsored the bill.
You are limited to 45MPH so DOT tires are not required.

We should have the final safety inspection manual soon.

That was as of a year and a half ago, just after I bought it. I was looking at what Full Throttle did to one of theirs a year or so ago and I think they put 215/70r14 or 215/40r17...something like that. I have also heard 14" bfg all terrains too.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I just bought an RZR1000 XP and I am in the beginning stages of making it street legal. Searched with the same question and found this thread.

Called these guys today and they assured me these 6-plys (I like a little heavier ply) are street legal and approved by the US D.O.T. This site is for Golf Cart Tires, but they carry the right size for my new wheels on my DOT setup. I am mounting these tires on a set of 14" ITP SS wheels:

Tires are 23" tall, so I don't anticipate losing TOO much ride height. As soon as the rest of my stuff gets here I'll post pics and info on my build to help future searchers.

6" shorter tires on your RZR is going to be ridiculously small, if you're going for street legal I hope you won't be driving on any faster roads, those tire are gonna kill your top speed.
