The Ranger is nice machine, My brother in law went with one. I went with the Prowler..... Total cost for Ranger with new cage and seats $20,000. Total cost for Prowler with custom cage and seats $13,000. My Prowler has no problems keeping up with and on some hills passing the Ranger. Parts are easy to find on-line or from the dealer, never had a problem.

I love my Prowler, I really did my homework before choosing. I also have a couple friends that have them and no one has had a problem, yet. Arctic Cat has such a great reputation when it comes to engines and trannys and it really shows in the Prowler. I took mine out last weekend with a bunch of friends and I was even impressed with the things I was able to do with it, its a very strong and well built machine. If you chose the Cat, you wouldn't be disappointed. Even totally stock these things are awesome.

I bought the Prowler just as the Polaris RZR came out. Saved much more $$ and set it up for four people. Still hits 50MPH and handles nice. If your looking for a 2 seater, the Polaris is nice. The prowler has proven to be low maintenance and parts are available. It's the aftermarket that is slow to cath up on the Prowler. It all depends on demand. I like both, but for the family the Prowler made more sense. Have fun which ever way you choose.

I just bought a 2007 Prowler about 2 months ago and love it. Dealer has all the parts I need. Runs great and rides is outstanding. The engine braking is sweet too

The only reason AC listed the bed capacity at 325lbs was due to regulations on the manufacturers with the higher speed. For 2009 model year, that is fixed. All Prowlers in 09 are rated at 600lbs.
Having parts and getting them has not been a problem for us at all. That is most likely a dealer issue. The Prowler in a sport sense will outperform a Ranger 4X4. The Rzr is a faster machine, unless you include the Prowler XTZ 1000 in the plan. The Rzr only outruns the XTX by a little, but the XTZ will flat out walk away from the Rzr. I know, I've driven both.
I would highly suggest you test drive both machines and not in a dealers paved parking lot. Most AC dealers have demo machines for you the try out, try them off road as you would use them for real.
Good luck..
