Re: witch one to buy?

I suggest the Rhino. Up here in Alaska, I race mine, then hunt with it, and plow driveways in -30*. I have never had a problem with this baby. Even with all the mod's done to mine, it is very dependable. Just my 2 cents.

For what you want I would go with a ranger XP 700, they are not as sporty as a rhino or teryx but a lot of fun and much more suited for work than the others.

Re: witch one to buy?

My family and I do not recommend the Polaris Ranger 700XP. After 37 hours of cruising around in the trails and dunes with our 2yr old daughter we broke a belt. The belt was covered under warranty, but upon further review of why the belt broke, they told us our clutch has a groove on it and it is not covered by our warranty (or extended warranty). So, it's going to cost us $650 for our dealer to replace the clutch.

If you have money to burn, and don't have any problem spending $650 every 35-40 hours of use. Then by all means the Ranger is the ride for you.  lol

Polaris won't cover our clutch and neither will our dealer, so the extended warranty is pretty much a waste of $$ too.

We purchasee our Ranger on 06/02/07 and it broke on 11/11/07. The dealer still doesn't even have the parts in to fix the clutch, but did have the courtesy to call and let us know that the parts may be in on 12/12/07. He mentioned their on back-order.... what does that tell you about their craftsmanship??

We have recently met several people that sold their Rangers and purchased Rhinos... and don't have any complaints.

You already answered your own question when you made that list.  And the first item on your list says Teryx.

Re: witch one to buy?

I would go with a Tomcar. and the model that would best fit your needs is the TM-57 you can put 1433 lbs in the bed. great for  a farm.

Re: witch one to buy?

I have a Arctic Cat Prowler, and I love my machine. There are many opinions about what UTV to buy.  Really you need to get out there and check out the UTV's and figure out which one is the best for you. Mine has been a great machine, they come with a warranty that comes everything for 6 months.   I know 6 months is not very long but they have a great reputation for building great machines. I am not saying anything bad about the other UTV's but I can tell you the Arctic Cat Prowler is a great machine!!

Re: witch one to buy?

I WOULD GO WITH THE TERYX, IT HAS MORE POWER THEN MOST UTV'S ON THE MARKET, YOU CAN GET AS MUCH AFTERMART STUFF FOR THIS AS YOU CAN GET FOR THE RHINO. THE RANGER IS REALLY HEAVY AND THE RHINO IS INDER POWERED. THE ONLY VEHICLE THAT WILL COMPETE WITH THIS IS THE RZR.

Re: witch one to buy?

I have a stock RZR (wife's) which is a great machine, except for a couple of broken clips.

Anyhow, I checked out the Ruesch and it is a nice looking machine.  I'm in the  Phoenix area and I am looking into buying one.  I don't think it's as fast as the RZR, but maybe with the factory turbo option it might beat RZR.  I paid well over $12k for the stock RZR, I can probably get the long travel Ruesch XRL for quite a bit less.  They say they are setting up dealers all around the country, with full parts, and service support.  That makes me feel good.  Besides you can put a lot of the Rhino parts onto the Ruesch and vise-versa.

Agreed! (drool)

After watching all the machines (and the carnage) at the rally, I would buy a Teryx or a Rhino (if you can't wait for Can-Am  wink ).

Re: witch one to buy?

FWIW, we have had our Prowler for 10 months, and put almost 1100 miles on it.  I think it performs every bit as good as the Rhino or Ranger, but I can add that in snow it is better simply because of higher clearance.  Workmanship is very good, and while there are a few things I would do differently if I were building it, I honestly believe the same could be said for all the machines.

The UTV world is developing rapidly, and as with most vehicles, there are different styles/types.  I would say the RZR is more of a sports machine, the Mule a truck, and the Rhino, Prowler, and Ranger in the middle.  I haven't been around the Teryx enough to be sure, but it seems to be similar to the Rhino/Prowler/Ranger crowd, but more powerful.

The Ruesch machines did great in Moab, but I haven't driven one yet.

The best advice was already given:  drive a few, and see what suits you best! big_smile
