I too thought that experience and starting slow was the answer. NOT! Last weekend, I was riding with a passenger. THIS is important. The ride characteristics are TOTALLY different than flying solo. We had come down a long steep trail and once on the flat ,deep course sand, I was almost stopped, honest, and I cranked the wheel and goosed it to slide the rear around. The next thing I FELT was a huge SLAM! We were on the side! Got out, flipped it up and assessed the damage. I was pretty surprised. Obviously, front "fender" punched through due to the cookie cutter. Why Polaris did not do a proper termination is beyond me. I had just bought my "fender cookies" too but had not installed them DOH!! My bed on that side broke where it runs upright along the roll cage. I bent my roll bar too.
So, doing "doughnuts" is a no no! I had ridden a Rhino quite a bit and never experienced this. I was also shocked that I did not get any warning such as "Whoa" up on 2 wheels.
I also have to say that 4 pints are my next purchase! I have the ugly purple bruises where the lap belt was and of course where the shoulder belt was. The thing happened so fast, I never let go of the steering wheel. So, all of my svelte 200lbs was supported by my right arm and shoulder that was attached to my hand that was still holding the steering wheel. MRI is scheduled for the 25th. Doc says something is torn in my shoulder.
I just told him fix it so I can get out and ride!!
