Re: 2007 Yamaha Rhino

Manufacturing defects - On my new 450 Rhino I have the following problems.

1. Noisy brakes (squeal).

2. Can't start the engine even though shift lever is in neutral. I must first shift into reverse and then into neutral then it will start.

3. The fuel level in the gas tank cannot be determined by viewing through the slot under and in front of the passenger seat ( the plastic tank is not transparent).

It is my understanding that these are common problems on most or all Rhinos.

The manufacturer does not have fixes at this time and does not seem to want to address them even though my dealer said that all Rhinos do it and other customers have complained.

Otherwise the Rhino seems to be a good machine for use on a hilly tree farm.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Re: 2007 Yamaha Rhino

my 07' 660 does the same thing with the neutral start deal. i have a grizzly that was doing that and all i did was adjust the linkage and it quit.i imagine the rhino has the same deal i haven't messed with mine yet. the brakes are an ongoing problem with the yamahas for some reason.we have a 04' grizzly,an 07'450 wolverine and an 06' 700 raptor and they all have that dreaded schreech!brake parts cleaner works for awhile but then it comes back the first time you get in the mud or water.I thought about trying a different brand of brakepads to see if it works.
