Re: New Prowler

Which one to get; XT or XTX?  If I add aftermarket exhaust or air filter will I have to reprogram the ECU? Why does the XTX have a lessor rear cargo payload, and would this present a problem with adding a rear seat/passengers?  Thanks

Re: New Prowler

First off, what is the difference in price? XTX is the 700 EFI isn't it? If so and if it's not a lot more money I would buy the XTX.

Re: New Prowler

Yes, XTX is EFI, tilt wheel, rear view mirror, rear diff that turns easier. Dealer is asking $700 more. What do you think?

Re: New Prowler

The 700 is new but there will be many mods for it in the future. EFI is easy to upgrade to get more power, Rear mirror only costs about $40. Tilt wheel is a sweet addition. Rear diff thats turn easier sounds like a dealer statement to sell you on the more expensive machine. The only downfall to the XTX is the only color is silver, now I like silver but I also like a little bit of a choice when it comes to spending $10k. It's all you man, what ever you decide the Cat won't let you down. I have not drove a XTX so I really can't give an honest opinion. I know the 650 H1 is a proven great engine.

Re: New Prowler

I am wondering what the dealer means by "rear diff that turns easier" sounds a bit fishy to me. Let us all know what that means and what you end up doing.

Re: New Prowler

You can look at the Arctic Cat site, the 700 has a rear diff. that has what I believe to be "limited slip", meaning it can turn sharper and not tear up the turf as bad. From what I heard the lock diff. switch on the dash locks both diffs. This info was not from the dealer. The dealer is at Bass Pro (Tracker Boats), is very low key, low pressure, and best of all, no freight, set up, or other BS fees.....just state tax and doc fee ($35), this alone saves me $700-$1,000 over motorcycle dealers, especially in Las Vegas (they act like car salesman). I think I'm sold on the XTX, just the EFI alone is probably worth the $700. I just wanted to know if anyone else thinks so, Thanks
