Re: No more power

I noticed that my fuel filter  had some grey silicon crap in it and changed it out. It's still running with no power. I looked at my buddies rhino and saw that his fuel filter was filled with fuel when it was running and mine was barely getting any fuel in it. Any ideas to what my be causing this. I checked my fuel line. Maybe there is something in my tank.

Re: No more power

mine had the same problem, i had a stock filter that had that same crap in it.  I bought a fuel filter from checker that was about the same, worked good for about 15 min then had the same problem.  then i got a yamaha fuel filter, runs great now.  if you have problems after a new filter try by passing the filter by putting a hollow pen where the filter should be.

Did you have any of that crap in you tank and have you replaced your plastic fuel pickup on top of your fuel tank.  I ordered a new billet fuel pickup. Heard the plastic one will crack in time.

Re: No more power

I have read on another forum people complaining about the same problem. They said it was plastic shavings in the fuel tank, likely from manufacturing process.

Re: No more power

i replaced the one right behind the passenger seat.  I talked to a local dealer and the said that if your first filter goes bad get a stock yamaha filter and you should be golden.  they said they haven't seen the same one back for that reason.
