Re: only place to ride

Glamis is more like a desert. I think I prefer a much solid ground.

Re: only place to ride

There isn't a place better for dunin then Glamis. 50miles by 50miles of pure sand. we went for easter weekend (sorry no pics) I think there was about 150,000 people and we had no problems finding a spot (about 5acres) all to ourselves. we road all day on fresh sand! Dumont sucks compared to Glamis!

NOTHING BETTER THAN GLAMIS, LIKE BARRON SAID IF YOU NEED OR WANT IT YOU CAN GET IT @ GLAMIS. THE BEST PART IS WE LIVE 45 MINUTES AWAY.

Re: only place to ride

I love Glamis, but you guys need to get out more.
I'd go insane riding the same place over and over.

Come on up to Utah, 70% of the state is public lands and you can ride it all.

Re: only place to ride

What time of year do people stop going to Glamis? I have never been there but want to go. Is it too late?

Re: only place to ride

USUALLY THE LAST BIG WEEKEND IS EASTER, THE DIEHARDS CONTINUE AS LONG AS THEY CAN USUALLY MID MAY. SOME PEOPLE DO SUMMER RIDES @ NIGHT. JUST A LITTLE INFO FOR YOU. YESTERDAY IN EL CENTRO IT WAS 118, TODAY, TOMMORROW & THE 4TH IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE 118.  THESE TEMPS ARE TAKEN IN THE SHADE. THERE IS NO SHADE IN GLAMIS. IT IS USUALLY 10 TO 15 DEGREES HIGHER @ GLAMIS. THIS WEEK HAS BEEN HUMID TOO WHICH IS UNUSUAL FOR JULY. SO THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS YES IT IS TOO LATE FOR YOU TO GO TO GLAMIS NOW. YOU ALSO DO NOT WANT TO GO ALONE. YOU SHOULD GO WITH SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE AREA FOR THE FIRST TRIP.

Re: only place to ride

All my "Dirt" friends only go riding in the dirt. They hate sand. I would like to get in a group that goes to Glamis. I also want to get a GPS so I don't get lost.

Re: only place to ride

I also ride Glamis and enjoy it the best.  In winter I hit Glamis and Dumont Dunes.  It is summer time now so there is no better place then Pismo Beach.  I reside in SOCAL.  I am plan on doing some trail in Big Bear.
